Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé, Ukrainian former boxer Wladimir Klitschko, has filed a request for guardianship of the estate of their 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, more than a month after the actress passed away at age 36.
Hayden’s estate was passed down to Kaya after her death on August 16.
Inside Wladimir’s request
Wladimir filed the request through the Los Angeles County Superior Court on September 24, and claimed that items had gone missing from Hayden’s estate during the investigation into her death.
He also claimed in the filing that Hayden had concerns that an “individual” had previously gained “unauthorized access” to her home before her death, prompting her to take precautionary measures.
© Instagram“It is urgent and essential that Wladimir be immediately appointed temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate, to afford Wladimir the necessary standing to file Hayden’s probate petition, and the power to nominate a proposed administrator of Hayden’s Estate,” the filing read.
“Without an immediate appointment for these purposes, there is a high probability that property belonging to Hayden’s Estate may be lost, damaged or dissipated before a duly appointed personal representative can be in place to protect it,” it continued. “This directly and adversely affects Kaya, as she is the sole heir entitled to the entirety of Hayden’s probate estate.”

Wladimir claimed that “non-family members” had “accessed and destroyed” some of her personal emails, and that “certain items of personal property belonging to Hayden, including jewelry, have disappeared or remain unaccounted for”.
He also alleged that federal agents had taken certain items during the investigation into her death, and that if he were appointed guardian of Kaya’s estate, he would ensure “the return of estate property once it is no longer needed by investigators”. A hearing is scheduled for December 7.
Hayden and Wladimir’s deep connection
Hayden and Wladimir first met in 2008 and went on to get engaged in 2013 before welcoming Kaya the following year. After their breakup in 2018, Wladimir was granted sole custody of their daughter, due to Hayden’s desire to focus on her mental health and recovery amid addiction issues.
“[Wladimir] and I are very close,” the Nashville star said on the On Purpose podcast in May. “There’s not many people who know me in this world as well as he does. And I know that we still have an incredible amount of love for each other.”

After her death, Wladimir shared a moving tribute to his ex-fiancée on social media, writing: “Our family is going through a time of profound shock and grief.”
“The announcement of Hayden’s tragic death saddens me deeply. She left this world far too soon. Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya,” he continued.
