Hailey Bieber reveals pregnancy with Jack was a ‘surprise’ due to septum in her uterus

Hailey Bieber candidly revealed why her pregnancy with her son, Jack, was a surprise after doctors warned her she could have trouble conceiving.

“I had a septum in my uterus, and Dr. [Thaïs Aliabadi] kept saying, ‘Well, we need to look at this and keep an eye on it before you get pregnant because it could potentially be an issue,’” the Rhode founder shared on Tuesday’s episode of the “She MD” podcast.

Bieber explained to co-hosts Mary Alice Haney and Aliabadi, her doctor, how she was told she would need a “small surgery” before she decided to start a family with her husband, Justin Bieber.

“I was like, ‘Okay. Well, I’m not thinking about getting pregnant right now, so we’ll just cross that bridge when we get there.’ And then I magically got pregnant,” the businesswoman explained. “It was a surprise.”

Aliabadi recalled when Hailey, 29, told her about the news, saying, “She’s like, ‘I’m pregnant!’ And I’m like, ‘No!”

The medical professional shared that she was concerned for the makeup guru because the latter had a moderate septum, which raised her risk of miscarrying to “25 to 40 percent” and her chances of preterm delivery from 10 to 20 percent.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a uterine septum “is when your uterus is divided into two parts” instead of “one hollow or open space.”

“I never forget, as I was telling her, ‘Well, these are the risks,’ she looked at me. She’s like, ‘You know what? I believe that everything’s gonna work out fine.’ And I looked at her, and I’m like, ‘I think so too,’” Aliabadi said.

Hailey explained that as Jack grew, her septum started expanding, saying, “Everything was opening and doing what it needed to do, luckily.” 

The internet personality announced she and Justin, 32, were expecting their first child together with photos of their vow renewal ceremony in May 2024.

She flaunted her bump in a white lace Saint Laurent dress while standing on a hill in Hawaii.

That August, the couple welcomed their first child into the world.

“WELCOME HOME,” the “Peaches” crooner captioned a photo of his little one’s feet, revealing his name to be Jack Blues Bieber.

Justin and Hailey have shied away from sharing their son’s face online, though they give small glimpses of him.

The Grammy also adorably promoted his latest album, “Swag,” with a photo shoot featuring the toddler and Hailey.
