Hailee Steinfeld is “so proud” of her fiancée Josh Allen.

The 28-year-old actress and singer spoke about her NFL star fiancée — somewhat of a rarity for the popular young couple who prefer to keep their relationship private — sharing how proud she is of his stellar NFL season.

“To say the least, I am so proud of that man,” Steinfeld said to E! News.

She added, “Everything he’s done and everything that the team has done together, he is the hardest working person I know.”

Allen, 28, and the Bills fell short to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, Jan. 26, ending Buffalo’s season one game before the Super Bowl.

Allen had another standout game, going 22-for-34 and finishing with 237 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, and Buffalo put up a solid effort at Arrowhead Stadium, tying the game at 29 to end the third quarter.

Unfortunately for Allen and Buffalo Bills fans, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker put Kansas City up three in the fourth quarter and Buffalo was unable to regain the lead.

It was the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Chiefs, at the hands of Mahomes, have ended Buffalo’s season and championship aspirations. Had the Bills won, their appearance in New Orleans would have been their first return to the Super Bowl since the 1990s, when the franchise endured four straight years in the big game and coming up short each time.

Allen looked visibly upset after the loss. Speaking to reporters, he said, “It’s not fun,” adding, “But to be the champs, you got to beat the champs and we didn’t do it tonight.”

Despite the sting of missing the Super Bowl, Allen has lots to look forward to this offseason. In November, he and Steinfeld announced their engagement in a joint post on Instagram.

The photo showed the NFL star down on one knee in front of an arch of pink and red roses. The couple captioned the post with their engagement date, Nov. 22.

A source told PEOPLE after the engagement that Steinfeld and Allen’s families are both “thrilled” with the news. “They’ve been head over heels from the start,” the source added.
