Gwyneth Paltrow’s 21-year-old daughter Apple Martin is practically her twin in the actress’s latest “Boyfriend Breakfast” tutorial video.
The Marty Supreme actress, 53, started off her new culinary clip shared on Saturday, December 27, by embracing her daughter in their kitchen. Mom and daughter were wearing similar navy PJs as Paltrow gave Martin a big kiss on the cheek.
Paltrow then whipped up a mouthwatering breakfast using holiday leftovers — first turning some stuffing from the refrigerator into a waffle. She added some sautéed onions, rainbow chard and two fried eggs on top to make a meal that would win over even the pickiest boyfriend.
In 2022, Paltrow kicked off a series of “Boyfriend Breakfast” tutorials based on the meals that she made her now-husband Brad Falchuk every Saturday morning when they were dating. (Paltrow and Falchuk started dating in 2014 and tied the knot in 2018.)
“When we were dating, we started this tradition of me cooking him breakfast every Saturday morning,” she told Vogue in September 2022. “I would come up with all of these really creative breakfasts. It was something I put time into every week planning. I called them ‘Boyfriend Breakfasts.’”
Paltrow explained that her and Falchuk’s “Boyfriend Breakfasts” grew out of her questioning whether she could “be a feminist and still like to do domestic things.”
“[You can] if you have a consciousness of — you are doing something, you are taking care of something, because you love it,” she added.
The Academy Award winner’s most famous “Boyfriend Breakfast” is the original frittata she shared via Instagram in 2022. That recipe combined a traditional egg dish with turkey bacon, potatoes, spinach and onions caramelized in ghee.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s Instagram clip is far from the first time Martin has twinned with her famous mom. Martin was practically her mother’s doppelganger when she was photographed in a white sweater, navy shorts and matching Mary Jane slip-ons while walking her dog in the Hamptons in July.
Martin took direct inspiration from one of Paltrow’s iconic fashion moments when she wore her mother’s vintage black Calvin Klein dress to the Marty Supreme premiere in New York City on December 16.
The young socialite and singer told Vogue in September that she is continuously inspired by Paltrow’s style.
“She’s such a badass when it comes to fashion and has just done what she wants and doesn’t really care,” Martin declared. “I feel like I’m finally getting to the place where I don’t really care what people think. She influenced me.”
Meanwhile, Paltrow admitted to the publication that she started thinking about Martin’s future style choices before her daughter was even born. (Apple arrived in May 2004 as her mom and ex-husband Chris Martin’s oldest child. The former couple welcomed son Moses, 19, in April 2006, before “consciously uncoupling” in March 2014.)
“Weirdly, I started saving clothes for Apple about 15, 20 years before she was born,” Paltrow revealed in September. “I don’t just see a top, I’ll see a moment in my life and all the circumstances surrounding it. I’ve always saved everything in hopes that I had a daughter one day who would want to go in [my closet].”
Meanwhile, Paltrow’s son Moses made his red carpet debut with his mom at her Marty Supreme screening in Los Angeles on December 8. She later admitted on Late Night With Seth Meyers that it was slightly uncomfortable watching the acclaimed drama with Moses because of her onscreen sex scenes with costar Timothée Chalamet.
“He’s not into that,” Paltrow joked of her son’s reaction while covering her eyes with her hands.
