Gwyneth Paltrow, 53, and daughter Apple, 22, look like sisters in swimsuit photos

Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter Apple Martin could easily have passed for sisters as they soaked up the sunshine together in a series of gorgeous new photos.

The 53-year-old Oscar winner and her 22-year-old daughter showed off their striking resemblance during a relaxed pool day, with Gwyneth sharing a glimpse inside her summer so far on Instagram.

In one sweet mother-daughter snap, the pair reclined side-by-side on a sun lounger, both going make-up free as they enjoyed some downtime.

Gwyneth looked effortlessly glamorous in a plunging black swimsuit and oversized sunglasses, while Apple opted for a red-and-white striped string bikini.

With their matching blonde hair, sun-kissed complexions and fresh-faced looks, the resemblance between the pair was impossible to miss.

“Summer, so far so good,” Gwyneth simply captioned the carousel, which also included idyllic shots from around the pool and garden.

The Shakespeare in Love star also appeared to ditch her swimsuit altogether for one playful black-and-white selfie, posing topless while tucking into a snack.

Another photograph showed Apple in a hydrangea-filled garden in an oversized charcoal sweater and knee-high black boots.

Apple’s appearance comes as she prepares to follow her famous mother into the acting world.

The 22-year-old, whose father is Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is set to appear in Nancy Meyers’ upcoming romantic comedy Paris Paramount.

She has already been spotted on set alongside Owen Wilson – who memorably starred opposite Gwyneth in The Royal Tenenbaums 25 years ago.

The film boasts an impressive cast that also includes Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Erin Doherty, Tony Hale and Beverly D’Angelo.

Apple previously dipped her toe into modelling, working with fashion houses including Chloé, while music also appeared to be a possible career path given her father’s success.

Gwyneth shares Apple and 20-year-old son Moses with Chris, whom she married in 2003.

The former couple famously announced their “conscious uncoupling” in 2014 before finalising their divorce two years later, but have remained close while co-parenting their children.
