Family is Guy Fieriâs âfirst priority.â
The Food Network star and his wife, Lori, who he has been married to since 1995, are the proud parents of two sons: Hunter, 28, and Ryder, 19. Guy and Lori have also raised their nephew Jules, 22, since the death of Guyâs sister Morgan in 2011.
When it comes to how Guy is raising his kids, he often draws on his own upbringing.
âMy parents never put a boundary in front of me saying, âYou canât do that,â â he told PEOPLE in May 2019. âIâve always lived in the realm of âYou can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.â â
His older son, Hunter, echoed these sentiments in a January 2022 interview with PEOPLE. âHe always told me, âYou canât be just Guy Fieriâs son. If you really want to take over this world, you got to be Hunter Fieri,â and thatâs just what I think about,â he shared.
And while he is one of the worldâs highest-paid chefs, Guy has said that his family is just like any other family.
âIâm so proud of all that these kids get to experience but also at how grounded theyâve stayed,â Guy said. âI think that has a lot to do with who I am and who my wife is. We came from very, very close-knit families.â
Lori added, âOur perfect nights are really barbecuing in the backyard and the kids swimming in the pool ⊠We just hunker down at home. Thatâs [Guyâs] happy place.â
Guy, who founded the Guy Fieri Foundation in 2010, has a heart for giving back â and so do his sons. In May 2023, the trio helped feed more than 500 people at a Special Olympics event in Northern California.

Hunter Fieri, 28
Guy and Loriâs older son, Hunter Fieri, was born on Aug. 13, 1996, in Santa Rosa, California. Now 28, Hunter is a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas and is following in his fatherâs footsteps as a chef and restaurateur.
Since he was young, Hunter has appeared on several of his dadâs shows, including Guyâs Grocery Games and Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. In fact, Guy has said that he hopes Hunter will one day take over the latter.
âHeâs a great teacher,â Hunter told PEOPLE, adding of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives: âWhen the time comes, I will be ready to roll.â
When he was in college, Hunter interned under under the restaurant group Caesarâs, where famed chefs Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis and Gordon Ramsay all have restaurants. He received an opportunity to train under Ramsay in London as well, but the credits for his study abroad program fell through. However, Guy is very proud that his son earned the offer all by himself.
âThe Gordon opportunity â that was Hunter talking to Gordon,â Guy told Delish in 2018. âI donât call any buddies for favors. Hunter doesnât play it. Thatâs one of the things Iâm most proud of.â
He added that while the plan is for Hunter to work in the family business, he wanted his son to strike out on his own first.
âI wanted him to get a couple years of his own feeling and flavor and message,â Guy told the outlet. âWhen that gets done, weâll all know when itâs time for him to come back to the family program. Itâs gonna happen, I donât have any question. Matter of fact, I look forward to it. Iâm almost wanting to cheat the system and bring him back early, but I know whatâs going to be best for him.â
In 2021, Hunter debuted his first solo project: a 12-minute documentary titled âWhat Plants Can Do,â in which he traveled to North Dakota to learn how the plant-based brand ZENB makes their yellow pea pasta.
âI was very nervous,â Hunter told PEOPLE of the project. âI didnât know what to look for. I didnât know what to do in the sense of how do I watch over myself while also playing the role of the star of the documentary? But I just took what I learned from my dad and from his manager and from all the friends and mentors thatâve helped me along the way. And I just remembered what I was taught and I put everything I had forward.â
Hunter is also passionate about volunteer work and has volunteered alongside his dad many times. In 2018, the father-son duo helped feed displaced residents and first responders amidst the Carr wildfire in Redding, California. Along with a team of 20 volunteers, the Fieris fed 750 people in just one day.
Hunter proposed to pickleball pro Tara Bernstein at the Fieri family Thanksgiving in November 2023.
âComing soonâŠMr. & Mrs.Fieri,â the couple wrote in a joint post on Instagram.
In February 2024, Guy told PEOPLE that more than one of his celebrity chef friends had offered to cater Hunterâs big day and that the wedding would be at the same place Hunter proposed: the familyâs northern California ranch.
âWe were out at the ranch for Christmas and thatâs where the big discussion was going on and talking about how itâs going to go, where weâre going to do it,â Guy said. âWe have this big pond and in the center of the pond is an island with a big willow tree on it. The idea is to have Tara walk across the bridge and do the whole thing.â
In honor of Hunterâs 28th birthday, Guy shared a tribute to his son on Instagram. He wrote, âHappy birthday To my son / right hand man / sous chef / cohost / instigator / and good time laughing machine @hunterfieri Hahaha. You are one of a kind son, thanks for the adventure of a life time! Love ya.â
Ryder Fieri, 19
Ryder Fieri, the coupleâs younger son, was born on Dec. 31, 2005, in Santa Rosa, California.
Guy and Ryder have always bonded over sports, and particularly their love of the Golden State Warriors. In May 2022, when the Warriors made it to the playoffs, Guy posted two photos of him and Ryder supporting the team on Instagram. In the first photo, the celebrity chef poses with a very young Ryder on the teamâs court. In the second picture, theyâre in the same spot, only Ryder is a teenager nearly as tall as his dad. âThis is how long Steph and the Warriors have been goinâ to the #NBAfinals!â Guy captioned the photos.
In January 2023, Guy gifted his son a new car for his 17th birthday. âHe lost it. Iâve never seen him happier about a gift he was getting,â Guy told PEOPLE. âI mean, what is the gift? The gift is, âHey, you have to pay half the money weâll pay the other half.â But he was really excited.â
The truck also served as a reward for driving his grandparentsâ minivan for âone year with no tickets, no accidentsâ after he got his driverâs license the year prior.
âI want the boys to be self-sufficient,â Guy previously told PEOPLE. âItâs a rite of passage ⊠Show me that you can spend a year driving the car, not getting any dents, not getting any wrecks, not getting any tickets. Prove that youâve got it all together. Then you can take your own money out of the bank and go buy a car.â
Ryder may have a future in food like his dad and brother. In February 2023, Guy shared a photo of Ryder on the set of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, captioned, âRyder cohosting DDD in Boise today and he did great!! So funny.â
The youngest Fieri will attend San Diego State University in the fall of 2024.
