Gigi Hadid is disgusted that her name was mentioned in the notorious files of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
âMade me sick to my stomach,â she replied in a now-deleted comment to a fan who threatened to unfollow the supermodel on Instagram.
âHorrible to read someone youâve never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context,â she added.
Hadid, 30, said that ânever in my [her] met the monsterâ but believes her name being mentioned in the files was because Epstein âtried to take responsibility of peoples careers in order to manipulate his victims.â
âI didnât comment bc I donât want to take away from the stories of real victims of his; but your comment made me realize maybe its not clear-and itâs important to let you know,â the runway model penned.
âI grew up privileged, yes. But my parents protected me and taught me the value of hard work, the same hard work that got them to this country and gave them careers,â Hadid added.
The mom of one then shared details about how her modeling career launched, including meeting with agencies before she turned 18 and signing with IMG in 2012.
âAnd Iâve worked hard every moment since. To be named in those files, I think I was 20-21 at the time he would have written that email- is disturbing, and I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being,â she wrote.
âMay he rest in [fire emojis],â Hadid concluded.
The fan then told the Maybelline spokesmodel âthat it was a âCOMPLETE HONORâ to have her reply, to which Hadid responded: âđđ sending love thanks for your support x.â
After the Department of Justice (DOJ) released millions of Epstein files, Gigi and her sister Bella Hadidâs names were mentioned in a December 2015 email exchange between the late financier and an individual whose name was redacted.
âHow did the Hadid sisters became [sic] models and make so much money?! I donât understand,â the unknown person wrote to Epstein.
âYou know,â the late pedophile replied before the unnamed individual claimed the modelsâ father, Mohamed Hadid, âpaid the agency.â
Epstein replied, âNo.â
The person whose name was redacted then claimed âthere are too many girls giving blowjobs,â to which Epstein responded: âagreed.â
Following a 2005 investigation, Epstein pleaded guilty to procuring a child for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute, serving 13 months with work release.
He was charged in 2019 with sex trafficking of minors and accused of abusing dozens of underage girls. Epstein died by suicide in jail that year while awaiting trial.
His right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving 20 years for sex trafficking.
