Geena Davis proved she’s as captivating as ever as she stepped out in Chicago this week, looking incredibly fresh-faced during a special panel appearance.

The Hollywood icon was speaking at the A League of Their Own: Spotlight on Geena Davis event at C2E2 2026, held at McCormick Place on Friday, March 27 2026, where she reflected on her remarkable career – and revealed there’s still one major goal she’s yet to tick off.

While the star has played many diverse roles over the years there’s one role that has been out of her grasp.

“One of my biggest goals is to be in a Marvel movie, I have to say,” she revealed. “It used to be Star Wars, and I was like, ‘I’ve got to get in there,'” Geena continued. “But yeah, a Marvel character. Maybe a villain or something. I should go through their whole catalogue of characters and see if there is anybody like me.”

It’s a fitting ambition for an actress whose career has been defined by versatility and longevity. From her early breakout roles to her status as one of Hollywood’s most respected performers, Geena has consistently taken on characters that defy expectations.

She first rose to prominence in the 1980s, with memorable performances in Beetlejuice and The Fly, before cementing her place in cinematic history with her Oscar-winning role in The Accidental Tourist

Her portrayal of Thelma in Thelma & Louise remains one of the most iconic performances of her career, while her turn in A League of Their Own continues to resonate with audiences decades later.

Across genres – from comedy and drama to action and fantasy – Geena has built a body of work that few can rival, often portraying strong, complex women at a time when such roles were less common in mainstream cinema.

Away from the screen, she has become an equally powerful force for change within the industry. In 2004, she founded the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, an organisation dedicated to advocating for equal representation of women and girls in entertainment. Through research and collaboration with studios, the institute has helped drive meaningful conversations around diversity and inclusion.
