With the California fires raging through parts of L.A., several horrific plane incidents one after another, losing TikTok then getting TikTok back and an unprecedented amount of political upheaval, itâs safe to say January 2025 was a lot.
And with all of this chaos rattling our nervous systems and testing our mental health, the internet has decided February is the new January. (That damn groundhog also said weâve got six more weeks of this.) People are not only resetting and redoing their resolutions all over again, but they are leaning more into the things that spark joy, attract good vibes and bring comfort.
And the PEOPLE editorial team is fully on board with it.
From jean sweats to soup to super-soft blankets, here are 11 things PEOPLE editors are leaning on to get through the new New Year.
Sweatpants Jeans
Weâre saying goodbye to running errands while looking basic and picking up the viral sweatpants jeans. A great alternative to leggings or tights, sweatpants jeans make sure youâre not compromising your fashion for comfort and are a favorite amongst influencers (as well as moms-to-be like Brittany Mahomes, who was spotted in them before welcoming daughter Golden).
This trend is so hot you can get a pair of sweatpants jeans at any price range. On the high-end side, Rag & Bone offers their Miramar Terry jogger pant for $155, or you can get a more affordable option like the high rise wide-leg pull on jeans from the Gap for $35.
Procedural Dramas
Tried and true in their ability to thrill us, keep us in suspense and somehow lull us into a pleasant TV coma all at once, PEOPLEâs Executive Editor of TV and Events, Breanne Heldman, is fully locked into procedural dramas such as Matlock, High Potential (above) and Doc as well as the second season of Tracker.

âLove Is Blindâ Wedding Cake-Flavored International Delight Creamer
Heldman is also making her morning routine that much sweeter with the Love Is Blind Wedding Cake-flavored International Delight creamer. The coffee creamer company is marking the eighth season of the Netflix series with the release of a line of products inspired by the hit reality series.
In addition to the wedding cake flavor, International Delight is also releasing a chocolate-covered strawberry flavor as well as a wedding cake-flavored iced coffee, ahead of the showâs return on Valentineâs Day.
âThe Lonely Island and Seth Meyersâ Podcast
The unrepentant millennial in Executive Editor Alex Apatoff canât get enough of this trip down memory lane with arguably the four people who shaped â00s humor more than any others: The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers (podcast). Seth Meyers moderates the musical comedy group of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone as they reminisce on their Saturday Night Live days, dissecting their famous digital shorts, sharing their memories of that time, and breaking down the audience reception and relevancy today. âYouâll catch me on my sad little mental health walk every Monday morning, cackling to myself listening to the four of them rip on each other,â she says. âAnd then they all say âI love youâ at the end! Itâs the best.â

Crock Pot Multi Meal Cooker
After years of writing about food, PEOPLEâs Senior Editor, Integrated Projects, Ana Calderone finally caved and bought a slow cooker. âIâm a two-person household so this dual-pot version from Crockpot means I can use one 3.7 qt side for a quick weeknight dinner, or both sides for a big Super Bowl gathering,â she says.
âRecipe favorites like this slow cooker chili or hot honey chicken make the whole apartment smell amazing â and thus, the colder months, that much more bearable.â
âAll Creatures Great and Smallâ
PEOPLE Staff Editor Sabienna Bowman describes this show as âbeing wrapped in a soft, warm blanket.â The series follows the adventures of James Herriot as a veterinarian in 1930âs Yorkshire Dales and stars Nicholas Ralph, Rachel Shenton, Anna Madeley, Samuel West and many more. All Creatures Great and Small is available to watch via PBS.
