Paris Hilton has gained a talented new sister-in-law, Maggie Sellers Reum, after the podcaster tied the knot with her longtime love, Courtney Reum, in a lavish wedding that took place over two nights in March.

Their love story began years prior, when the Hot Smart Rich podcast host and investor met Courtney, an entrepreneur, author and investment banker, through a mutual friend at an industry event. Maggie told HELLO! that seconds after their conversation ended, she leaned over to her sister, Katie, and whispered: “I think that’s my husband.”

Courtney then pulled off a romantic proposal in Paris, just hours before the French Open Men’s Final was due to start. Their song, “Higher Love”, played over the speakers as he got down on one knee with a custom 7.08-carat emerald-cut ring in hand.

The happy couple were glowing on March 6 and 7 as they said “I do” in front of 250 guests, including Paris, who is married to Courtney’s brother, Carter Reum, as well as rapper LL Cool J and singer Mike Posner. Maggie, 33, and Courtney, 47, had already married in a small, intimate ceremony seven months prior, on the same day that both of their parents had tied the knot decades earlier: August 28.

Their March nuptials were a celebration of their love on a larger scale, with the pair opting to throw a two-day party in Los Angeles at a family estate in Beverly Park. For the rehearsal dinner, Maggie slipped into a 2014 Tom Ford gown before changing into four different looks on her wedding day. “I really wanted one-of-one pieces,” she told HELLO!, “which proved to be quite harder than I thought.”

She got ready for the ceremony in a custom look by Taylor Pardee of Bella Venice, before donning a vintage 2006 gown by Lespose Mariagraia Sirressi from the house of Il Quadrie Oglio.

“Wearing something so delicate, with all of that intricate beaded design work, a piece that such a labor of love went into,” she recalled. “I decided on ivory, not white, and a two-piece set that felt like me as soon as I put it on. It took many alterations to make it truly mine.”

Next came a Vivienne Westwood galaxy gown for the reception, followed by a 2004 Gucci by Tom Ford after-party dress. Meanwhile, Courtney looked dapper in a Tom Ford suit for the wedding, complete with Christian Louboutin shoes.

The reception was a sight to be seen, thanks to the incredible 180-square-foot mural of olive trees in the center of the room, as a nod to the trees they were married under back in August. “When I walked in and saw the mural for the first time, with everyone gathered beneath it, I was completely overcome,” Maggie told us.

“Those were the exact olive trees in our backyard where we had our civil ceremony. Seeing them painted into the room that way, surrounded by candlelight and every person we love most in the world, it felt as though the entire story of us was contained in a single image and the perfect backdrop to officially celebrate as husband and wife. I will never forget that moment as long as I live.”

They chose a golden age LA aesthetic for the decor

Maggie and Courtney wanted the reception to ooze golden age LA glamor, a look which was achieved with deep burgundy and moody blacks alongside soft ivory, cashmere, and blush, with romantic lighting and candlelit tables.

Guests were treated to an acoustic performance from Mike Posner at the reception, followed by a dazzling DJ set from Paris at the after-party and a performance of Maggie’s favorite song, “Stargazing” by Justin Jesso. Maggie and Courtney’s lavish celebration was love-filled and intimate, and was anchored in the couple’s obvious adoration for each other.

“[I was] shockingly calm, and just so excited,” the 33-year-old said of her special day. “When I have to speak publicly on my own, my hands shake, and my voice can sometimes crack or speed up. I was told I looked graceful, elegant, and calm the entire time. That is truly one of the reasons I married him.”

Maggie shared that Courtney helped her feel calm on their wedding day

“Courtney has a way of making every room feel like the most important room I have ever been in,” she continued. “Standing beside him that evening, in front of everyone we love, I understood for the first time what it means to feel truly seen; not just as who you are, but as who you are becoming.”

So what’s next for the lovebirds? Maggie and Courtney have set off on their honeymoon in Africa, where they will relax and take in the sights of Ghana, South Africa, Mauritius, Kenya, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast. “We wanted to experience it all together for the first time,” Maggie told us.
