Erin Andrews Teams with Rebecca Minkoff on $1K Moto Jacket to Celebrate the ‘Spirit of the Super Bowl’ (Exclusive)

Are you ready for some (high-fashion) football?

Just in time for the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, sportscaster Erin Andrews teamed up with fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff for an exclusive jacket for football fans that’s both fashionable and functional.

The duo started with one of Minkoff’s existing jackets — the Tabitha — and went from there, Andrews says.

“We put the Super Bowl logo, which is custom artwork that celebrates the spirit of the Super Bowl,” Andrews tells PEOPLE of the piece that’s part of her label’s collection. “She has a cool kind of vibe, with a rock-and-roll edge to her, and this was a cool way to get her into sports. [WEAR by Erin Andrews has] been putting out Super Bowl lines the last couple of years, so this was something fun and new.”

Andrews, 46, says it’s sometimes a fun challenge working on a Super Bowl collection because the logo is set in stone by “higher powers,” but bringing in Minkoff for the project made for a “cool partnership.”

The moto jacket, which retails for $1,000, can be purchased now and in New Orleans as part of the Big Game experience. It sits alongside Andrews’ larger WEAR by Erin Andrews Super Bowl collection, which she launched just in time for the Chiefs to take on the Eagles in the championship game.

“I just felt like there was this huge white space,” Andrews says of initially wanting to create fashionable sportswear, leading her to create all these pieces season after season. “Now people can root for their teams and look fashionable while they do it. We also wanted to create a line that you could wear anywhere and everywhere, not just on game day. Sports fashion, I mean, it’s really taken off.”

Andrews’ own Super Bowl collection includes several pieces, including some that feature the Super Bowl logo and nods to New Orleans and others that allow fans to show their allegiance to their team.

One of Andrews’ favorite pieces in her collection is the cropped hoodie, which fans can purchase on site in New Orleans to support their favorite team. She loves how versatile it is, which is why she keeps redesigning it season after season.

“You can wear it out to the game, you can wear it out with a pair of leather pants, you can wear it to go working out. There’s so many different ways you can put together an outfit with it,” she gushes.

Andrews knows her designs are perfect for all WAGs — wives and girlfriends — of the players especially, and with the recent rise to superstardom of many of them, thanks to social media, they’ve become famous in their own right. And that means they need something to wear other than a “crappy T-shirt with a weird V-neck” that Andrews got stuck with back in her WAG days.

The mom of one, whose husband is former NHL star Jarret Stoll, cares deeply about the fashion aspect of her WEAR by Erin Andrews pieces because when she was cheering for her husband, she didn’t have a lot of options for cute things to wear, she says.

“I love sports, and I knew there was a white space,” she says of when she originally launched. “I was always like, ‘what the heck and I wearing to the game?’ WAGs have been around forever, but we didn’t have much of a choice or an option. I’m annoyed this wasn’t an option when my husband was playing, but it was also a huge inspiration for it. And now when I go to the games, I get to be outfitted in it, and it’s so fun.”

Plus, she gets to outfit some of her favorite WAGs in her creations, including Taylor Swift, who wore a WEAR by Erin Andrews bomber jacket to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, play in the Super Bowl last year.

Andrews, who is working this year’s Super Bowl, says she plans to gift out some of her pieces and has a list in mind for who will be getting them, but she’s staying mum as to who is on it. She was over the moon to see “maybe one of my most favorite WAGs” in a WEAR by Erin Andrews piece last year, though.

“Super Bowl fashion is always so much fun to see,” she says. “Last year, because I wasn’t working [the game], I got to really hone in on what everybody was wearing. This year, it’s going to be more about what’s going on on the field. I can’t wait to see what the guys show up in. It’ll be super fun.”
