Eric Dane passed away at the age of 53 on February 19 due to his struggles with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known as ALS.
The Greyâs Anatomy actor sadly left behind his wife Rebecca Gayheart and their two children, Billie Beatrice Dane, 15, and Georgia Geraldine Dane, 13.
His family will inherit his net worth of seven million, per Celebrity Net Worth.
About his wife
In 2018 Rebecca filed for divorce, however she ended up ultimately dismissing the request in 2025 and the couple remained married.
Rebecca revealed what made their relationship work to E! News and said: âWe are best of friends. We are really close. We really figured out the formula to staying a family and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it and we are as well.â
She added: âI think itâs important to not look at a relationship that ends as a failure. It wasnât a failure. It was a huge success. We were married for, I mean, we are still married, but together for 15 years and we had two beautiful kids, so I think thatâs a successful relationship, and thatâs how we look at it.â
About his family
Prior to his firstborn entering the world, he knew that he wanted to name his future child Billie, regardless of being a boy or girl.
The name holds special significance for the actor being that itâs his late fatherâs name. Her middle name is actually the name of Rebeccaâs grandmother. The couple would often playfully call their daughter Billie The Kid.
Both Billie and her sister are following in her parentsâ artistic footsteps, being that they are very interested in modeling and acting. Rebecca revealed to E! News that âtheyâre too young yet.â
Billie is also a ballet dancer and takes it seriously. She expressed to The Patch: âI am at my happiest when I am dancing. Studying ballet has taught me so much about discipline, commitment and how to make the perfect bun!â Billie sys that dancing is like her personal âoxygen.â
The mom gushed about Billie online as she started high school in 2024. She wrote online: âIt doesnât seem possible yet [but] I know you are more than ready for this next chapter. I have watched you juggle school, ballet and life with tenacity, grace and humor. Youâre as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside.â
Their younger daughter Georgia loves volleyball and performing in her school plays.
She has a wise-beyond-her-years stance on life already. During the tough lockdown during the pandemic, Rebecca wrote online: âIâm sharing a few pics of Georgia today because she is the only one in the family who is thriving and not just surviving. She loves being home and finds the joy in most everything she does. Iâm so thankful for this kid.â
