Eric Dane’s girlfriend, Janell Shirtcliff, has broken her silence after the actor’s death, sharing a series of loving photos on Instagram Stories.
The series of pictures included sweet moments from their relationship, including the time Eric got a tattoo with her, and a video of his youngest daughter, Georgia, taking pictures of her father. “I want you to look over there,” the young girl can be heard telling her father, directing him to the perfect shot, before she reminds him to smile and Eric laughs.
The couple made their red-carpet debut at the premiere of his series Countdown in June 2025, and the pair didn’t hide their affection for each other. They were pictured holding hands and gazing adoringly at each other as they posed for photos at the event in Los Angeles.
Janell is a filmmaker and photographer, who has worked with the likes of Post Malone and Jenna Ortega.

Eric died at the age of 53, less than a year after he announced his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis. The Grey’s Anatomy alum passed away on February 19, according to a statement from his family, and is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and his daughters, Billie and Georgia.

The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”

It’s hard to put into words. I feel really so sad for his children. I was corresponding with him, we were texting. So I spoke to him about a week ago.”
Eric was initially only meant to appear in just one episode of the ABC series yet became a fan-favorite with audiences, and went on to feature in 140 episodes in total.

Eric married model Rebecca in 2004, and together they welcomed Billie in 2010 and Georgia in 2011. Rebecca filed for divorce from Eric in 2018, yet they called off their split in March 2025, a month before he announced his ALS diagnosis.
