Elon Musk has welcomed his 13th child, who was born five months ago, according to author Ashley St. Clair.
St. Clair, who is best known for her childrenâs book Elephants Are Not Birds, announced the news via an X post shared on Friday, February 14.
âFive months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father,â she wrote. âI have not previously disclosed this to protect our childâs privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.â
She added: âI intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our childâs privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.â
Alongside the post, St. Clair wrote âAlea Iacta Est,â which translates to âThe die is cast.â
Musk is already a father to 12 other children. Most recently, Bloomberg reported in June 2024 that Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis reportedly welcomed their third baby together.
The pair previously welcomed twins Strider and Azure in November 2021.
Musk also has six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson. Musk and Wilson, 51, who were married between 2000 and 2008, share twins Vivian and Griffin, both 20, and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian, all 18. The exes also shared son Nevada, who died of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at 10 weeks old.
Musk later moved on with Grimes (real name Claire Boucher) in 2018 and they share three children together. They welcomed son X Ă A-Xii two years later in May 2020. Their daughter, Exa Dark SiderĂŠl, followed one year later via surrogate. Isaacsonâs book also confirmed that Musk and Grimes, who split for good in 2022, also share son Techno Mechanicus.
After the birth of X, Musk shared his thoughts on fatherhood with The New York Times in July 2020, revealing Grimes was leading the charge on the parenting front.
âWell, babies are just eating and pooping machines, you know?â he told the outlet. âRight now thereâs not much I can do. Grimes has a much bigger role than me right now. ⊠When the kid gets older, there will be more of a role for me.â
In September 2024, Grimes sued Musk in regard to parental rights over their three children. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the âOblivionâ singer filed a âpetition to establish parental relationshipâ in the Superior Court of San Francisco.
