Ellen DeGeneres sells one of her last US homes for $5.2M after moving to UK

Ellen DeGeneres is offloading her real estate portfolio.

The former talk show host and her wife, Portia de Rossi, sold their two-bedroom, two-bathroom beach bungalow in Montecito, Calif., on Thursday, Page Six can confirm.

The 1,691-square-foot property, which the couple purchased for $2.9 million in 2020, was listed for $4.995 million on March 10 and sold for $5.2 million just 10 days later.

The contemporary home, which is located near Butterfly Beach, features a “spa-like” bathroom, “sun-drenched” patios, a private courtyard, “lush” gardens and soundproof fencing, according to its listing.

The house, which was built in 1954 and remodeled in 2012, was one of DeGeneres and de Rossi’s last remaining residences in the United States after their move to the English countryside.

TMZ reported on the heels of President Trump’s November 2024 election win that the pair were “get[ting] the hell out of the country” and relocating to the United Kingdom.

They purchased a place in the Cotswolds of England.

In addition to her new property, DeGeneres, 67, debuted an updated hairstyle — darker with more natural strands — when photographed at the British pub the Farmer’s Dog.

The following month, she denied headlines about their new home being ravaged by floods in the region.

“For those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood,” DeGeneres wrote via Instagram.

The clarification concluded a social media upload celebrating her 20th dating anniversary with the 52-year-old “Ally McBeal” alum.

“20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be,” she gushed. “You are the best thing that ever happened in my life.”

DeGeneres concluded, “So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.”

The Daytime Emmy winner and de Rossi have been married since August 2008.

Earlier this month, DeGeneres gushed to her Facebook friends that she is “happy to be with [her wife] everywhere and always.”
