Elizabeth Hurley couldnât have a closer bond with her son Damian, and confessed her love to the world when he marked his 24th birthday with the most adorable photo.
Taking to his Instagram account, the director shared a throwback childhood photo in which he was the image of his model mother, his big blue eyes taking front and centre of the snap.
Captioning the post, he penned: âWoke up today to so much love⊠Very moved and very grateful Xx.â Damianâs doting actress mother was one of the first to respond, writing: âI LOVE MY BABYâ alongside a long string of red love heart emojis.
Elizabeth shares her son with the late businessman and director, Steve Bing, who sadly died in 2020. Damian also shares a very close bond with his stepfather, Arun Nayaar, whom Elizabeth married in 2007, before splitting in 2011.
Special mother-son bond
It doesnât take an expert to see just how close Elizabeth and Damian are. Not only do the pair live together, but they are also professional partners, with the former Austin Powers starlet starring in her sonâs directorial debut, Strictly Confidential.
It turns out that when Damian first showed an interest in filmmaking at the tender age of eight, adoring mother Elizabeth promised then that she would star in his first real movie.
Elizabeth told PEOPLE: âDuring the making of my first-ever short film back in 2010, when I was eight, my mother promised me sheâd be in my first feature. True to her word, the minute Strictly Confidential was green-lit, my mother dropped everything and raced out to the Caribbean to help,â he said.
During Strictly Confidential, the mother-son duo raised a few eyebrows as the film includes a sex scene from Elizabethâs character, Lily.
Addressing the moment, Elizabeth told the Telegraph: âYes, of course, people have got their knickers in a twist about it a bit. But actually, for us it wasnât a big deal at all, just one of the seven scenes we were shooting on that day.Â
âWe didnât have a lot of time. It was a night scene⊠and the minute it gets dark, the mosquitoes start dive-bombing you⊠There was a bit of exposed flesh for the mosquitoes to getâŠâ
She added, âWe didnât really think about it very much. Though I know other people think itâs sort of rather startling.â
