Duff Goldman was in good company for his Emmy nomination.
The longtime host of Kids Baking Championship was nominated for Outstanding Children’s Personality alongside Meryl Streep in the 3rd Annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, which aired on Saturday, March 15. Despite losing the award, the celebrity chef said he left the ceremony feeling sweet.
Goldman congratulated the adolescent-focused series for the nomination in an Instagram post and wrote, “Losing to Meryl Streep might just be the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me haha.” He paired the caption with a selfie of him and his wife Johnna.
A second post showed Goldman’s photo next to the other nominees, including Awkwafina, Gavin Friday, Ian McShane and Streep — who won for her work on Storyline Online.
He wrote more about his excitement, “Sorry, I’m still just on cloud nine that I’m on a screen with such incredible talent. My mom can’t even contain herself. So, so cool.”
In addition to his wife and mother’s support, Goldman’s former Kids Baking Championship co-host Valerie Bertinelli commented on her praise. “You deserve it! You’re the best ♥️♥️” the former Food Network star wrote.
The Indulge cookbook author had co-hosted Kids Baking Championship with Duff Goldman since it premiered in 2015.

Kardea Brown took over hosting the Food Network series in place of Bertinelli for the latest season, Kids Baking Championship: Amazing Animals. It was announced that she would take over for Bertinelli in October.
Goldman and Brown have nothing but kind words to say about working with one another.
He told PEOPLE at the 2025 South Beach Wine & Food Festival, “She really is truly just an empathetic person, and I think the kids can really sense that she is as real as it gets and is safe and lovely and wonderful, and she’s got a really amazing sort of point of view on pastry, which is totally different than mine. And so it’s really nice having conversations with her because we come from such complete different places.”
When asked about working with Goldman, Brown told PEOPLE that he is a “great teacher” and “great friend.” “Gosh, he’s been champion of mine, and I really do appreciate him,” she said in January.
