Drake Bell has a very relatable reason for always being on the go.
The Nickelodeon alum, 38, had a sit-down interview with his former Drake and Josh co-star Josh Peck, 38, for Peck’s podcast, the Good Guys, which premiered on Thursday, March 27, and the two longtime friends discussed people moving out of California and to other states without diligently researching their new residence.
Bell recalled when close friends of his moved to Austin, Texas, right before the city was hit with an abnormally massive winter storm that froze the city’s power grid. “They literally moved into their house, were there for a week, and then they were in a hotel,” Bell explained. “Everything was frozen over, and the power was gone! I’m like, ‘You poor people.’”
Outside of the surprise winter storm, this seemed to be a normal occurrence for Bell, who revealed that many of his friends have moved to different states over the years.
“All my friends are gone, that’s why I spend most of my time in Mexico and Florida now, I’m barely in L.A.,” he confessed. “Because I was sitting in my house, and I’ll come back from Mexico or Latin America or wherever I’m touring, and I’d sit at my house and I’m like, ‘I have no friends in Los Angeles.”
Bell, who shares his son Jeremy, 3, with his ex-wife, Janet Von Schmeling, 30, went on to share a few locations his friends had moved to, including Fresno, Calif., Nashville, Texas, and Florida. “They are all gone,” he added.
The “I Kind of Relate” singer went on to share a revelation, stating, “I’m like, ‘I don’t even have anyone to call.’ If I want to hang out with someone, I have to fly. So I’m out of here!”
