Dr. Pimple Popper is back with a brand-new Lifetime TV show that has a lot of heart — and pops.
Dermatologist Sandra Lee, who rose to fame by sharing videos as she popped large cysts and treated other skin disorders, returns to TV with Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out, her new show that documents life in her California clinic where she is now mentoring a new staff of dermatologists.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive first look at the trailer, she also pops lipomas, treats growths, and solves other puzzling skin dilemmas.
“I have treated thousands of the craziest things many dermatologists have only seen in textbooks,” Dr. Lee, 54, says in the trailer, which shows a patient’s back covered in cysts. As the clip shows, Lee helps patients who’ve traveled to her for help. One woman tells the camera: “Dr. Lee is my last hope.”
Another patient, who appears to have the skin disorder vitiligo, cries as Dr. Lee comforts her: “You’re a strong woman, I see it. You’re beautiful, inside and out.”
A young girl, struggling with a heavy growth on her ear, says, “My ear has crushed my self-esteem.” In the next shot, she’s shown in Dr. Lee’s office as she prepares for a procedure to remove the mass as the doctor says, “Her life is gonna be so much better.”
And, of course, there will be pops, as Dr. Lee trains new staff in her office. One patient has an “eggplant-sized bump” who feels like “a weight has been taken off” after Dr. Lee removes it — and a staffer jokes, “I usually get splashed.”
Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out premieres April 21 at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
