Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson put their romance on full display at this weekend’s swanky amfAR gala in Palm Beach, we hear.
A source tells us the pair “held hands, kissed discreetly and danced as everyone watched and whispered” at the event at billionaire hedge funder Ken Griffin’s oceanfront estate.
Talk at the event was that Don’s dad, President Donald Trump, approves of the pair.
Trump Jr. and the socialite were photographed in December holding hands, while — as far as the public knew — he was still with his fiancee, Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Sources told Page Six at the time that Don Jr., 47, had ended the engagement to the former Fox News star. Guilfoyle was then swiftly named ambassador to Greece.
The event — held in a tent on the expansive property with decor by Bronson van Wyck — drew high profile guests including Julia Koch, who, with an estimated worth of $74 billion, is one of the world’s richest women.
Also there were Tony Robbins, designers Dennis Basso, Bob Mackie, Jennifer Miller, Colony Hotel owner Sarah Wetenhall, and power publicist Susan Magrino.
A source noted that it appeared as though Trump Jr. and Anderson had Secret Service in tow, but a spy says it was hard to tell the difference between “Secret Service for them, security for the event, and security for women wearing expensive jewels.”
The source tells us it seemed like the couple had “at least two” guards.
Another source however tells us that the two guards near Anderson and Trump Jr. “may have been for Martha Stewart, who was sitting nearby decked in Graff jewels.”
We hear many of the ladies were wearing jewelry borrowed from the luxury brand, which sponsored the night, and while guards were around, they were “low key.”
“It was lovely and you didn’t feel [all the security],” says one source.
“Livin’ la Vida Loca” singer Ricky Martin performed at the event, which honored Stewart with the Award of Inspiration, presented to her by Tommy and Dee Hilfiger.
Stewart’s item in the auction was also the big ticket item. We hear a private tour of her Bedford Farm estate in Katonah, New York, went for $120,000.
Steve and Andrea Wynn received the Philanthropic Leadership Award.
The event raised $3.8 million for amfAR’s HIV/AIDS research programs.
Later guests headed to the Carriage House for the after party where formerly “canceled” director Brett Ratner was seen mingling at the spot, where membership reportedly goes for $400,000.
Ratner is directing the upcoming documentary on First Lady Melania Trump for Amazon.
He had been ousted from Hollywood after being accused of sexual misconduct in a Los Angeles Times expose in 2017. He was also accused of rape by a former assistant, which he denied. He filed a defamation suit and the case was later dismissed.
