Dolly Parton posted a sweet Thanksgiving message to her fans on Instagram Thursday, looking healthy and vibrant after worrying fans due to her recent health struggles.
Wearing a brown tweed top and styling her blond hair up with a few curls down, the 79-year-old music icon appeared animated during her message.
âWell hey! Itâs Dolly here, and I want to wish all of you and your family blessings this Thanksgiving,â she said. âI am so thankful for all of you and for the memories that weâve shared through the years. So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and just know that I will always love you.â
Parton postponed her Las Vegas residency in September due to health issues. She shared with fans at the time that doctors told her that she âmust have a few proceduresâ done.
âAs I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although itâs not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!â she quipped. âIn all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see.â
Fans were later alarmed, however, when the âJoleneâ singerâs sister Freida shared on Facebook that she was âup all night prayingâ for Parton.
âSheâs strong, sheâs loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart sheâs going to be just fine,â Freida wrote in part. âGodspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!â
Freida eventually clarified her comments after fans expressed concern.
âI didnât mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,â she wrote. âSheâs been a little under the weather.â
Parton herself took to X to declare she âainât dead yet!â
In the clip, the â9 to 5â singer explained that she wanted to address her medical issues head-on as âeverybody thinks that Iâm sicker than I am.â
âDo I look sick to you? Iâm working hard here,â she stressed. âI wanted to put everybodyâs mind at ease. Those that seemed to be real concerned, which I appreciate, and I appreciate your prayers.â
The 11-time Grammy winner recently told People that she has no plans to slow down.
âPeople say, âWell, youâre going to be 80 years old.â Well, so what?â she told the outlet. âLook at all Iâve done in 80 years. I feel like Iâm just getting started.â
âI know that sounds stupid, but unless my health gives way, which right now I seem to be doing fine,â she continued. âI think thereâs a lot to be said about age. If you allow yourself to get old, you will. I say, âI ainât got time to get old!â I ainât got time to dwell on that. Thatâs not what Iâm thinking about.â
