Can a trip to Walt Disney World be achieved without any planning?
One Reddit user sought to answer that question in a post titled “I went to Disney World with zero planning,” published on the subreddit r/WaltDisneyWorld on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
“No app. No lightning lanes. No virtual queue. Just raw dogged it and lived my life,” the user explained.
According to the post, they got to enjoy the Magic Kingdom park to the fullest extent, going on “14 rides and then one of those rides 4 times.”
“And I took a mid day break at the hotel for 3 hours. We went back for the Halloween party so I was able to ride Tiana’s bayou adventure without a virtual queue,” the post continued.
While the Disney guest didn’t get to enjoy Disney’s Hollywood Studios as much because there were “long lines,” they shared that Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park “was hardly any wait at all.”
The poster claimed that Flight of Passage, within Pandora – The World of Avatar, had a wait less than 20 minutes the two times they rode it. However, they arrived at the ride when the park first opened, anticipating longer waits.
They added that Expedition Everest had a 15-minute wait the whole day, and Animal Kingdom’s Dinosaur attraction was only 5 minutes.
The Reddit user ended the summary of their experience by writing that “no plan” was required to take advantage of all the entertainment the resort offers.

“The point of this post is I think I had just as much fun or more than if I were a super planner. Props to those who can handle the anxiety of schedules but if you’re worried you can’t do Disney because of all the planning involved , you still can,” the post read.
In the comment section, readers expressed their mixed reactions, with one saying that their “stress level went up” by reading the post.
“I feel the opposite, my stress goes up with lighting lanes and virtual queues! If I don’t get to ride something with a long wait oh well. Maybe I’ll ride it next time. I’d rather enjoy my life,” the post’s author responded.
Another seemingly agreed with the writer, commenting, “Once you start to let go of the planning, it becomes so much better for everyone.”
