As we enter March, many of us are looking forward to the warmer weather – including Escape To The Chateau stars Dick and Angel Strawbridge. The Channel 4 stars live at Chateau de la Motte Husson in France with their children, Arthur and Dorothy, and on Sunday, they teased what lies ahead for their family.
In a subscriber-only newsletter sent to fans with the subject line “Something’s blooming at the Chateau”, Dick and Angel penned: “It’s been a busy and productive weekend here in France.
Spring at the Chateau
“Yesterday, we welcomed 50 garden lovers from around the world for our annual spring Garden Day. There was digging, pruning and planting…and everything else in between!” The pair shared a photograph of said helpers outside their sprawling pad before they headed inside to enjoy a “well-deserved lunch” in the Orangery.
Dick and Angel, who met in 2010 at a London party through their shared TV agent, also shared that the Walled Garden at their home was starting to show the first signs of the new season.
“The beds are waking up, and we’re back out there with muddy boots and big plans,” they wrote. “There’s something magical about this time of year, watching everything you’ve nurtured through the cold months suddenly burst into life.”
The couple’s move to France
Northern Irish engineer Dick and London-born designer Angel first moved to France in 2015 to escape UK living costs and to find a better quality of life. They purchased the incredible 19th-century Château-de-la-Motte-Husson in Martigné-sur-Mayenne for £280,000 and took on the task of renovating it into a family home and an events venue.
Having welcomed her son and daughter in 2013 and 2014, respectively, Angel said that adjusting to her new life in France wasn’t easy at first. While her children settled well into a French school, the self-confessed “social butterfly” said finding common ground with her neighbours was more difficult.
“I felt really uncomfortable, it was weird,” she admitted on the Sweat, Snot & Tears parenting podcast, revealing that she concluded that dinner parties with what she called the “Chateau Set” were not for her.
When is Escape to the Chateau on TV?
The popular Channel 4 show ran from 2015 until 2022, when Dick and Angel decided to end the series to focus on new projects and their children. However, in October 2025, the couple took to Instagram to share a welcome update.
“We are delighted to announce that we are officially back in production for Escape to the Chateau, Series 10! It’s been wonderful welcoming back our Escape filming family — the unsung heroes behind the cameras,” the stars wrote.
“As a family, we’ve stepped into a new era. With Arthur and Dorothy happily settled into college, Series 10 brings more change and growth than the Chateau has ever seen! We promised that when the time was right for our family, we’d invite the cameras back in to give you an update — and maybe even a Christmas Special… and that time is now!”
Further details concerning a release date are yet to be confirmed.
