Brazilian influencer Derleya Alves has reportedly died after complications from a breast augmentation procedure. She was 26.
Multiple outlets reported that Alves got a breast augmentation on February 20. She then began to experience intense abdominal pain, per Daily Mail and The Sun.
Alves went on to have multiple tests and two additional surgeries, where her intestines were repaired. One of her ovaries was also removed.
The content creator, who had more than 27,000 followers on Instagram, died on Saturday, February 28, at Marabá Municipal Hospital in the Brazilian city of Marabá.
The Daily Mail reported that the Marabá Municipal Hospital medical team “identified a possible congenital intestinal abnormality that may have contributed to the severity of her condition.”
While there is no suspicion of medical malpractice, information on Alves’ condition before the operation and her cause of death is pending. An Instagram post shared by local news outlet Carajás Notícias claimed a biopsy report is expected on March 16.
Portal Carajás Notícias reported that the wake and burial honor was held on Sunday, March 1.
One day later, Alves’ sister shared a tribute alongside a series of photos of the pair through the years.
“My love, what can I say about you? An incredible woman, a beautiful woman, a wonderful woman, with a big and generous heart, kind, charismatic, humble, full of joy, always smiling… oh, there are so many things, princess 😢❤️,” Jessica wrote via Instagram on Monday, March 2, translated to English.

In a separate clip, Alves’ mom was seen helping her after the operation.
