Derek Hough and wife Hayley Erbert Hough shared footage from the home birth of their newborn daughter, Everley Capri.
Hayley, 31, gave birth to the couple’s first child on December 29, 2025, and they are now celebrating their first month of parenthood with a moving Instagram post.
Derek, 40, and Hayley shared black-and-white footage of her giving birth via Instagram on Thursday, January 29. In the clip, Hayley is seen sitting in a birthing pool inside the couple’s home while surrounded by candles. Derek can be seen stroking his wife’s hair as she goes into labor.
The footage also documents Everley’s first precious moments with her parents. Derek can be seen holding his little one against his bare chest while sharing a kiss with Hayley.
“I can’t believe it has been one month since I brought our beautiful baby girl into this world. ♥️,” Hayley captioned the post. “I’ve gone through a lot in this lifetime, physically and emotionally, and thought I understood my own strength.. Until childbirth, and now motherhood, revealed a depth I had never known.”
She continued, “It was one of the most challenging things I have ever experienced, and yet my body and my baby always knew exactly what to do. Even in the most intense moments of labor, I never felt fearful. I felt held. I felt supported. I trusted the strength moving through me. Every sensation was a reminder of the power my body carries. I am endlessly proud of myself, and in complete awe of what my body, and all women, are capable of. There is something so incredible about the surrender of birth, remembering what women have done since the beginning of time.”
Hayley also paid tribute to Derek, writing, “I am beyond grateful for a husband that never doubted the process. He never doubted me. He had unwavering belief in my strength and was my anchor through it all. He held so much space. He showed up with presence, with a calm strength. The love and connection I felt from him was beyond words, a feeling I will hold onto forever. I love you so much, @derekhough.”
Hayley went on to praise the birth team who helped her deliver Everley, writing that she is “deeply grateful for the love, care, and steady presence they gave me through the many hours of labor.”
“This birth was raw, wild, primal, vulnerable, transformative, sacred. In the most sacred space, my daughter arrived earth side, just as she was always meant to,” Hayley wrote. “I have been asked many times if I would do it again, and without hesitation I would do it a million times over again.”
“Happy one month of life, my beautiful Everley! You changed me. You changed us forever. I love you infinitely ♥️,” she concluded.
Derek commented on the post with a gushing tribute of his own to his wife.
“The most powerful experience I have ever witnessed. I am in awe of you my beautiful wife and of all women who endure bringing life into this world ❤️,” the Dancing With the Stars judge wrote.
Derek and Hayley announced the arrival of Everley earlier in January via Instagram.
“December 29, 2025 … Everley Capri Hough 🤍 Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed,” they captioned a joint post featuring the couple cradling Everley’s feet in their hands.
