Denise Richards claims Charlie Sheen was so jealous of her friendship with ex Patrick Muldoon that she cut him out of her life during their tumultuous marriage.
“I did not speak to Pat when I was married to Charlie,” Richards said on Wednesday’s episode of her reality show “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,” according to E!
“It was hard because I didn’t want to lose him as a ‘friend’ friend. But, towards the end of the marriage, I talked to him all the time about him,” she explained, adding Sheen had a “hard time” dealing with her and Muldoon’s relationship.
Richards, 54, dated the “Melrose Place” actor briefly in the ’90s before their romantic relationship turned into a “deep friendship.”
She married Sheen, 59, in 2002 and parted ways in 2006 after welcoming daughters Sami, now 21, and Lola, now 19.
The “Wild Things” actress is now married to Aaron Phyphers, with whom she tied the knot in 2018.
During the latest episode of the Bravo show, in which Richards reconnects with Muldoon while filming his new music video, the former “RHOBH” star admits she’s “grateful” Phyphers, 52, respects the exes’ friendship.
Richards’ daughter Sami mused during the episode that her mom and Muldoon turned up the heat while filming the video.
“I don’t want to get him in trouble, but I feel like he might still have feelings for my mom,” she teased while hanging out on the set of the video.
“How is he [Phyphers] fine with it? They have like 30 years of history,” Sami added.
Richards — who admitted she sometimes forgets she ever dated Muldoon — asked her husband if seeing her kiss another man bothered him, to which he replied that he doesn’t “get jealous like that.”
“No. Not in that setting,” he said. “If I’m driving to a restaurant and you’re sucking lips with somebody else, that would be f–king weird.”
Phyphers added he also has a “good relationship” with Muldoon.
In 2020, Richards admitted her divorce from Sheen, who was in the middle of a drug and alcohol relapse at the time, was a “hard thing for me to go through and deal with.”
Earlier this year, she told People the couple’s relationship was a “rollercoaster.”
In 2023, Sheen echoed her sentiments, saying, “We went through so much s–t together that I don’t think either one of us has any energy left to be divisive.”
Despite the couple’s ups and downs, Richards revealed Sheen sent her a “wonderful sweet positive text” about her reality series ahead of its 2024 premiere.
