Demi Moore has become synonymous in recent years with her long, raven locks. She typically wears them sleek and straight, cascading to her hips, occasionally adding a soft wave for variation.
But to witness Demna Gvasalia take the helm at Gucci with his debut fall/winter 2026 collection during Milan Fashion Week, the actress knew it was time for a dramatic change. As she graced the front row on February 27, Demi Rocker an ultra-short bob cut that was styled into a wet look with soft wave accents.
The bob skimmed her jawline and was styled with a deep side part, adding dimension and texture to the striking new look. The blunt cut perfectly complemented her head-to-toe leather look that consisted of a fitted black leather jacket and matching skin-tight pants. The ensemble was completed with pointed-toe heels, a black handbag, oversized sunglasses, and her pet pooch.Â
âI wanted to give Demi a very bold and fashion-forward look for Demnaâs show,â Demiâs hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos told InStyle.âIt is inspired by the silhouettes of the new collection. I felt an amazing, short, above the shoulder bob with this very sleek, wet texture would be perfect to complement her look. Itâs a big change for Demi â weâve never seen her like this before! She looks very cool, effortless, and modern. And it highlights her personality.â
Demi Mooreâs hair
The bold cut comes as a surprise considering Demiâs dedication to growing her hair. For the cover interview of Glamour Magazineâs 2025 Global Women of the Year issue, Demi opened up about the secret behind her hair. âI just started to let it grow. And it also kind of coincided with stepping back from work to be with my kids,â admitted Demi.
âI think probably because Iâm also lazy and I donât like to sit in the chair or have to go and get it done a lot.â Demi went on to explain that she never allowed her age to influence her decision to grow out her hair. â[We often hear] that as women get older, they shouldnât have long hair. And for some reason, I didnât buy it. I didnât believe it, and it didnât make sense to me why that had to be the case,â she shared.Â
âI did notice, particularly women who were going through menopause, that they wereâŠall were kind of cutting their hair in a very almost masculine way, just desexualizing themselves. And so I think there was a combination of this attachment to it, too. Sometimes I think Iâve just willed it.â
