Rosanna Arquette fiercely defended her pal Daryl Hannah after her “bulls–t” portrayal in “Love Story.”
“I love Daryl Hannah,” the “Pulp Fiction” star wrote via Instagram Sunday alongside a photo with the fellow actress.
“The portrayal of her on the streaming thing is bulls–t. Her love with John F Kennedy Jr. was real and some of the happiest times John F Kennedy Jr. had — Just ask his family. But no one did.”
Arquette, 66, described Hannah, 65, as a “great woman, a great actor, writer, director and activist for the environment.”
“She is also an animal whisperer,” she added. “Her work in the world has been epic.”
The actress rushed to her friend’s defense after Hannah slammed the Ryan Murphy-produced series, which showcased her on-again, off-again 1988 to 1994 romance with Kennedy Jr., before he moved on with Carolyn Bessette.
In an essay for the New York Times, Hannah, played by Dree Hemingway, slammed the production as exploitation, stating “[It] features a character using my name and presents her as me.”
The “Wall Street” star shared that she was portrayed as “irritating, self-absorbed [and] whiny” and insisted the show wasn’t “remotely accurate representation of [her] life, [her] conduct or [her] relationship with John.”
Additionally, the director insisted she never used cocaine or pressured anyone into marriage, adding, “I have never planted any story in the press. I never compared Jacqueline Onassis’ death to a dog’s.”
Hannah claimed she’s also “received many hostile and even threatening messages from viewers who seem to believe the portrayal is factual.”
The “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” star and Kennedy Jr.’s relationship officially came to an end after her dog and the late attorney’s mom, Jackie Onassis, died in 1994.
Kennedy Jr. was walking the dog in New York City when it was hit by a car.
The politician allegedly became “deeply resentful” of Hannah when she forced him to fly from NYC to California to attend her dog’s funeral while Onassis was dying of cancer.
Kennedy Jr. started dating Bessette after he and Hannah split in 1994 and tied the knot two years later. The couple and Bessette’s sister, Lauren, died in a 1999 plane crash.
As for Hannah, she married rocker Neil Young in 2018.
