Craig Conover revealed that he froze his sperm to ensure he and Paige DeSorbo could have kids just a few months before they broke up.
Conover made the admission while chatting with co-stars Austen Kroll and Shep Rose on Thursdayâs episode of âSouthern Charm.â
âMe and Paige have decided to freeze my sperm,â Conover told his buddies while discussing his future with DeSorbo.
The episode then cut to Conover going to an infertility clinic, where a nurse led him into a collection room and handed him a sample cup.
Conover, 36, explained that he wanted to get his sperm frozen in case something were to happen to him, because he wants it to be a âcertaintyâ that heâs a dad one day.
A few weeks before the âPillow Talkâ author went to the clinic, he discussed his decision with the âSummer Houseâ star and told her that he was âthinking about freezing my sperm.â
âWhat the fâk,â DeSorbo, 32, said while laughing. âThatâs the craziest thing in the world.â
Conover admitted in a confessional that heâs living a different âversion of lifeâ than the one he thought he had planned ââ which resembled the way he grew up in a âstable home.â
âBut, I think if you find the right person, and they happen to be a feisty Italian from New York, things arenât always gonna go how you have them planned,â he added in the confessional.
Conover went on to tell Kroll and Rose that he and DeSorbo had also recently agreed to wait âthree or four yearsâ before they started having kids.
âDid you decide or did Paige decide that you want to wait three or four years or did you both decide?â Kroll asked Conover.
The Sewing Down South founder confessed that it was DeSorboâs idea, but it also âmade senseâ to him, too.
âWithout any influence from Paige, yes Iâd be like, alright, you date for a little while, then you get married, and then you have kids, and weâre going to do that one day, but why donât we just try and make as much money as possible now?â he asked his friends.
Kroll, 37, then told Conover that he hopes heâs âdoing what he wants to be doingâ in life.
âI want kids one day,â Conover replied. âHave I ever told you that I wanted kids right now or did that come from someone else? Because Iâve never said I want kids right now.â
Kroll appeared shocked by Conoverâs response and claimed in a confessional that ever since heâs known Conover, heâs âwanted to get married [and] wanted to have kids.â
âIâm not entirely sold that Craig wants exactly what Paige wants,â Kroll admitted in the confessional.
Conover ended the conversation by telling his friends, âI mean look, plans change, and thatâs OK.â
On Monday â just days before this weekâs episode aired â DeSorbo stunned fans and announced that she and Conover had broken up after three years together.
âNo one did anything. It wasnât a bad thing,â she explained on her âGiggly Squadâ podcast. âI think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didnât want, and I think thatâs extremely powerful to be able to voice how youâre feeling in real time and what you want for your future.â
DeSorbo added that Conover was the âbest boyfriendâ sheâs ever had, but she believes they made the âright decisionâ for both of them.
âHe was a great boyfriend, and he did everything correct, and he never made me feel insecure or anything like that, so it almost is harder when no oneâs done anything to be mad about, and thatâs hard,â she shared.
DeSorbo later shut down speculation that she âruinedâ his hypothetical âproposalâ to her and seemed to deny rumors that she allegedly cheated on him.
Meanwhile, Conover has yet to address the breakup and has mostly stayed off social media.
âSouthern Charmâ airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and is available to stream the next day on Peacock.
