Call it animal attraction.

Art Basel doesn’t kick off until Dec. 6 — but the attendant antics have already begun! A randy couple was caught having “loud sex” on one of the outdoor installations on display during the annual art fair.

A source tells us the amorous pair were caught fornicating atop an enormous pachyderm set up on South Beach as part of the installation the Great Elephant Migration — a herd of life-sized Indian elephant sculptures.

A source tells us that on Monday night, “a security guard heard strange noises and went over with his flashlight to investigate. Apparently he saw a couple on top of one of the big elephants! We do not know how they got up there.”

The herd is made up of families of elephants, including babies, adolescents, and full size adults. We assume the couple scaled the animal by climbing its trunk?

The frisky pair avoided being cuffed by the cops thanks to a sympathetic guard.

“He simply asked them to leave, no arrests were made,” says our insider.

The artistic work is meant to convey peaceful coexistence. We guess it worked?

The coital couple weren’t the only ones taking advantage of the artwork.

A source tells us an unidentified rapper — who we hear is affiliated with DJ Khalid — was spotted attempting to film a music video amid the installation at 4 a.m. and was told to scram.

The piece is now getting extra security to keep any rulebreakers at bay.

The work was last seen in New York City’s Meatpacking District.

The elephants are fashioned from a repurposed invasive weed called Lantana camara by a community of 200 artisans called “The Real Elephant Collective,” living within India’s Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in Southern India.

The sculptures are for sale for around $28,000, and benefit the artists and various wildlife NGOs.

Cher, Diane von Furstenberg and “Sex and The City,” star Kristin Davis are all ambassadors of the project, which has been brought to Miami by the NGO Elephant Family USA in partnership with Xerjoff.
