On Saturday afternoon, Countess Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck, daughter of Oscar-winning director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, took to Instagram to share the joyous news that she is now engaged to her beau, François Pinault Jr, who is the son of Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault.
In a double picture upload, the blonde 22-year-old shared some photobooth-style snaps of the happy couple kissing, alongside a beautifully calligraphy-etched invitation, announcing their official union.
The young couple have been together for just over a year. Lara, who is 22, captioned the post: “got engaged to my best friend and the coolest boy in the world.” The happy news generated almost 20,000 ‘likes’ in under an hour and a flurry of well-wishes from followers.
Who is Countess Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck?
The 22-year-old made her debut in society alongside her talented father at Le Bal des Débutantes 2023. Although this put her on the world’s main stage, she’s had a colourful career in fashion over the years, interning at high-end fashion house Dior. Lara is also a social media star, generating millions of views on TikTok, with the success of her ‘get ready with me’ videos.
We’ve often seen her front row at various worldwide Fashion Weeks, and her lavish life has earned her an enviable following from doting fans.
Her ‘Countess’ title comes from her German ancestry on her father’s side; her grandfather, Count Leo-Ferdinand Henckel von Donnersmarck, was a former president of the German division of the Order of Malta.
Who is François Pinault Jr?
Groom-to-be François Pinault Jr has a relatively low profile online compared to his new fiancée. He is the son of Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault and his first wife, Dorothée Lepère, and part of the Pinault luxury dynasty. Born in 1998, he has a sister, Mathilde, and two half-siblings with Hollywood connections. His half-brother, Augustin James, is the son of supermodel Linda Evangelista and his half-sister, Valentina Paloma, is the daughter of Salma Hayek.
Although François doesn’t seem to have a heavy social media profile, he is sometimes seen at high-profile events, including football matches for the family-owned club Stade Rennais or contemporary art openings at the Bourse de Commerce.
