The director of Corey Feldman’s latest documentary, Marcie Hume, is refuting the actor’s claims he was not involved in the project by providing BTS footage.

“Filming intensely with Corey Feldman was to watch him battle the world,” Hume said in a Tuesday, December 30, statement shared via the documentary’s Instagram page alongside a clip of her and Feldman, 54, together in a parking lot. “This is no longer just a metaphor: It’s the foundation of why this film is titled Corey Feldman vs. the World.”

Hume continued, “I somehow never imagined that he would so fully turn that same reflex on me: the exact same suspicion, flattening of nuance, and the insistence that anything complicated must be an attack. I should not feel shocked, but I somehow held hope that he would see the care that went into this film. Somehow, I always hold out hope for him.”

Hume added that she “spent nearly a decade making this film” as the project followed Feldman on tour with Corey’s Angels. The film also included alleged claims by Feldman stating he was molested by late Lost Boys costar Cory Haim.

UPDATE 12/19/25 at 11.20 p.m. ET Corey Feldman denied he accused Corey Haim of sexually assaulting him via a statement made by his legal team to Us Weekly on Friday, December 19.  His lawyers claimed that the molestation comments were a “sensationalized mischaracterization of the statements made in the film” and clarified that Feldman said […]

“It is an honest film about a complicated person moving through a world built for spectacle,” Hume’s statement read. “One moment caught a brief spark in media coverage. But the movie is bigger than a headline.”

Hume shared that the decision to release a “deleted scene” of her and Feldman talking about the project comes after the actor claimed he was not involved in the doc.

“Corey is publicly saying he does not know how we obtained the footage. This is a small, plain glimpse of the reality of filming with Corey and of the relationship that existed while making this film,” Hume explained. “That time was challenging but also often positive.”

In the clip, Feldman expressed his excitement to have Hume on the bus with him for the documentary.

“Here’s the deal: So Marcie’s on the bus with us because Marcie is the documentarian who’s making the film you’re watching,” Feldman told the camera. “Now that she’s living the life with us, she is part of the adventure whether she likes it or not. You can’t just be a bird on the wall, or a fly on the wall, when you’re living it.”

Despite Feldman’s claims of not being involved directly with the documentary, Hume still admires the Stand by Me star.

“If you have not seen the film, I can almost guarantee it is not what you are expecting. Even now, even with all the noise, I find him endlessly fascinating,” she said. “I still have genuine care for him. Even if, for the moment, he seems to have forgotten that we decided together that I would make this documentary.”

In Corey Feldman vs the World, Feldman claimed Haim asked him to “mess around” while they worked together on the film in the late ‘80s.

“When we did Lost Boys, Corey said to me, ‘Hey man, let’s mess around,’” Feldman alleged in the documentary. “I said, ‘What do you mean?’”

Feldman claimed Haim told him, “‘You know, you suck each other’s d***, or you f*** around, you do this stuff.’”

“I called [Haim] and said, ‘Come over.’ But you know, when you have got somebody that’s trying to come onto you sexually, and you don’t want that, and you are a kid, and you are scared,” Feldman claimed in the doc. “You do whatever you can to stop it from happening, and that’s what was happening. I was being molested by Corey Haim. Truth be told.”

Earlier this month, Feldman’s legal team told Us Weekly in a statement that the actor did not have any involvement in the documentary and denied there was sexual assault involved in Feldman’s’ interactions with Haim. (Haim died in 2010 at age 38.)

“Mr. Feldman did not have any involvement in the documentary Corey Feldman vs The World. The producers of the film made the film without Mr Feldman’s knowledge and obtained the footage through dishonest means,” the statement read. “Mr. Feldman is investigating the source of the footage, the producer’s claimed rights to it, and the role of his name, image, and likeness. Mr. Feldman plans to pursue all legal options available to him once his investigation is complete.”

The statement clarified that Feldman was claiming Haim made a move on him, but allegations of molestation were a “sensationalized mischaracterization of the statements made in the film.”

“Mr. Feldman’s statement was that during the filming of The Lost Boys Mr. Haim sought to ‘mess around’ with Mr. Feldman, however, Mr. Feldman did not reciprocate his advances and contacted another party on behalf of Mr. Haim,” the statement continued. “Mr. Feldman’s statement that Mr. Haim ‘molested’ him was in reference to Mr. Haim’s advances, and not physical molestation. The film and any other current articles on this issue distort the truth and context of Mr. Feldman’s words and story. Mr. Feldman makes no claim that Corey Haim physically ‘molested’ him.”
