Colleen Hoover threatened to pull out of ‘It Ends With Us’ premiere over Justin Baldoni

Colleen Hoover threatened to ditch the August 2024 “It Ends With Us” premiere over Justin Baldoni in a newly unsealed email circulating on social media.

The month before the film’s release, the author wrote to studio executives about how “beyond uncomfortable” she felt over “everything happening behind the scenes” with the actor, 42, and co-star Blake Lively.

“Am I going to be comfortable if Justin is there? No,” the 46-year-old wrote.

While she noted “comfort [was] not her priority,” she couldn’t “promise [she’d] go if he and his team [were] all there.”

Hoover added, “I go back and forth every day between continuing to show up for this movie or going into hiding because it’s all causing me anxiety and bringing attention that I’m not prepared for/used to.”

Despite writing that she doesn’t “like upsetting people or choosing sides” and prefers “being neutral,” she claimed that “feelings [had] been hurt and boundaries [had] been crossed” in such a way that no one could “set it all aside and … smile for the cameras.”

Hoover insisted she would “choose to support” Lively, 38, with “whatever decision” the “Gossip Girl” alum made regarding the premiere.

The bestselling writer clarified, “I do hope to see you guys at the premiere, but if that ends up not happening for any reason, please know that I will only ever have positive things to say publicly.”

Baldoni’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

While Baldoni, Lively and Hoover all attended the following month’s premiere in New York City, the “Jane the Virgin” alum and his loved ones were allegedly “held” in a separate basement room.

He and his onscreen love interest immediately sparked feud rumors by not interacting on the red carpet.

In December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment, which he has denied.

The former “Man Enough” podcast host countersued, only for his $400 million lawsuit to get tossed last year.

Meanwhile, Lively’s legal battle is ongoing, and her trial will kick off on May 18, 2026.

Hoover called the whole “circus” of a situation “unfortunate” and “disappointing” in an Elle interview last year, explaining how the “It Ends With Us” movie drama has “overshadowed” her book of the same name.

“I’m almost embarrassed to say I wrote it,” Hoover confessed. “When people ask what I do, I’m just like, ‘I’m a writer. Please don’t ask me what I wrote.’”
