Something Borrowed’s Colin Egglesfield Shares He’s Been Diagnosed With Cancer for a Third Time
Colin Egglesfield is reflecting on his difficult health journey.
The All My Children alum—who announced in January he had been diagnosed with cancer for the third time in his life—shared the 2006 moment he was brought to tears on set of the daytime soap opera after keeping his first testicular cancer diagnosis and treatments a secret from the show.
“I started feeling tired and sluggish and just sweaty and hot, and I tried to do my scenes,” Colin said as he guest hosted the March 19 episode of the late Shannen Doherty’s Let’s Be Clear podcast. “The director at the time came up to me and he said, ‘Colin, are you alright? You don’t look so good.’ And I immediately just broke down because I realized that I couldn’t hold it in any longer.”
He continued, “I had been holding this in for three months. I didn’t tell anyone at work. No one knew at All My Children because it’s guy stuff, it’s testicular cancer. And I finally realized I couldn’t do this alone. I needed to tell people.”
After his emotional breakthrough, the Something Borrowed actor—who was diagnosed with testicular cancer again in 2007—found that his TV family extended their love beyond the screen.
