Clueless star Elisa Donovan is ageless in glamorous LA outing

Clueless alum Elisa Donovan proved that she had barely aged a day since gracing our screens as Amber Mariens in the cult classic 1995 film, with the 55-year-old rocking her signature red hair at an event in Los Angeles in March.

The mother of one looked incredible as she arrived at the Revive Collagen event to celebrate Spice Girl Mel B’s collaboration with the brand. Elisa sported a white collared blouse on the purple carpet, as well as lacy beige parachute pants, wedge heels with bow detailing, an iridescent handbag and layered necklaces.

Her vibrant red hair was worn down in beachy waves, and she kept her makeup natural and glowy. Elisa shot to fame after starring in Clueless alongside Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy, and Stacey Dash.

She previously explained how none of the cast members expected the film to become one of the most quotable and popular films of the ’90s. “I can pretty unequivocally say no, I did not expect that to be the case,” she said during an interview with Today Extra.

“But, I mean, we certainly kind of knew there was something magical going on. It seemed like all the pieces were fitting together, and everybody was just really at the top of their game, and so we kind of knew it would be successful,” she continued. “But I don’t think we figured we would still be quoted on the street today.”

The film raked in $88 million off a $12 million budget, and made its lead, Alicia, into a film star. Elisa went on to star in the Clueless TV show from 1996 to 1999, and later joined the cast of Sabrina the Teenage Witch alongside Melissa Joan Hart from 2000 to 2003.

Brittany passed away in 2009 aged 32 due to a combination of pneumonia, anemia and drug intoxication.

“I really always think about Brittany,” Elisa shared with People. “She would come into hair and makeup like this whirlwind of all this energy, and they would always be worried like, ‘No, no, no, don’t mess up your hair!’ [She’d be like], ‘No, I got it. I got it. I’ll fix it.’ And then would run out. She just had so much vibrance.”

The actress explained that she had reconnected with Alicia in recent years, particularly after they welcomed kids around the same time in the early 2010s.

“It’s been such a gift to reconnect with [Alicia] and just talk about the challenges and the joys of that time, [and] how it is to be a female growing up in this business, and now being parents, and it’s great to see that we all have survived and thrived,” she said.

Elisa shares her daughter, Scarlett, with her husband of 14 years, Charlie Bigelow. Meanwhile, Alicia shares her son, Bear, with her ex-husband, Christopher Jarecki.
