Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s son Presley Gerber has been cremated, just days after his tragic death at the age of 27. Presley’s death certificate confirms that the model was cremated at Rose Family Funeral Home following the completion of his autopsy, and that his ashes will be kept at his parents’ home in Malibu.
Funeral arrangements are also underway, with the family expected to hold a small and intimate service in Southern California. According to reports, the family is considering Forest Lawn or Malibu Presbyterian Church for the service, which is expected to take place within the coming week. The Gerber family has not publicly confirmed details of the funeral.
Presley, the eldest child of Cindy, 60, and Rande, 64, died on Sunday, September 20, at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica. He is survived by his parents and his younger sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber, 25.
Following his death, the family released a brief statement asking to be allowed to grieve privately. “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” their representative told HELLO!
Presley’s cause of death remains deferred
While Presley’s autopsy has been completed, an official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed on September 21 that both had been “deferred,” meaning further testing or studies were required before a determination could be made.
The department said deferred cases can take several months to complete. The Santa Monica Police Department previously said detectives were investigating Presley’s death as a suspected overdose and that there was no indication of foul play. Authorities stressed that the official cause and manner of death would be determined by the medical examiner.

Speaking on the Studio 22 podcast in 2023, he explained that helping even one person escape the place he had once found himself in would be enough for him.
He also spoke about wanting others to learn from the mistakes he had made. “What I hope I can do is have made the mistakes for some other people, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes that I made,” he said.

Cindy and Rande had publicly supported their son throughout his struggles. Earlier this year, Presley underwent ibogaine treatment in Mexico and shared his experience on social media, writing that he had begun “finding my way back to myself.”
His mom responded by telling him she was proud, while Rande praised his son’s courage and strength. Kaia also publicly celebrated her brother’s progress. In July, Cindy shared a particularly poignant message to mark Presley’s 27th birthday. “I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I’ll always see you as my little boy!” she wrote.
Presley had also become increasingly determined to use his own experiences to advocate for others struggling with mental health and addiction.

Kaia herself had spoken movingly about her brother shortly before his death, describing his openness about his struggles as something from which the entire family had learned.
