Christine Quinn is building her own fresh start.
Ten months after her harrowing split, the Selling Sunset alum, 36, has officially returned to her home state of Texas, where she’s putting down roots with her three-year-old son Christian Georges and embracing a new life with the support of her family.
PEOPLE got an exclusive peek at her new abode and caught up with the real estate agent and model about how she and her son have been adjusting to life out of the reality TV spotlight.
“I am really, really grateful to be living here,” Quinn tells PEOPLE from her home near Dallas, adding that it’s a blessing to “be close to my family. I have a sister who lives really close to me, and my son has a cousin. So it’s really something that I needed as opposed to the chaos when I was in Los Angeles.”
When she first arrived in Texas, fleeing her toxic, crumbling 3-year marriage to ex Christian Dumontet in 2024, the former Oppenheim Group agent explains that she needed to “find [a place to live] extremely quick,” so she’s currently renting a home that she “absolutely loves” and is in the process of decorating.
“I found a wonderful house,” the luxury real estate agent, who announced she was leaving her Netflix hit Selling Sunset after 5 seasons in 2022, in shares. “I would say it’s like 60% done, but there’s still some things that I want to do and really take it to the next level because I love interior design.”
The How to Be a Boss Bitch author’s idea of “cozy”might not be everyone’s taste, but it shouldn’t surprise those familiar with her eye-catching style from Selling Sunset or her 2019 Gothic winter wonderland wedding.
“I love black walls, tapestries, and wallpaper — and then I bring in a lot of mid-century furniture. A lot of gold, a lot of plants, a lot of green in my kitchen. That’s kind of my overall aesthetic and world that I like to play in.”
She adds that the design aesthetic she’s going for in her new place is very similar to her previous home in L.A., as she “pretty much did all the interior decorating” there.
As for how her son is adjusting to their new life in Texas, Quinn says, “He’s absolutely loving it.”
Before their move, the star reveals she was “really worried” about the toddler, whom she says used to be “nonverbal”. Since relocating, she says he’s now a “complete chatterbox.”
“It’s just so crazy since I moved to Texas. I mean, he was literally a nonverbal child at three years old, which is pretty rare,” she tells PEOPLE. “He went from that to being immediately enrolled in school, having other kids around him, being so talkative, being so extroverted.”
She adds that her son has been in an “intensive therapy” program for months. While they’re still working through a lot, she notes, the change in his environment has helped him to break out of his shell.
“Children are a product of the effect of their environment. And hopefully, that’s kind of coming through now,” says Quinn.

Quinn’s move comes after her highly publicized split from her now-estranged husband and the father of her son.
Dumontet was arrested in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident involving their son in March 2024, and was later arrested again for violating an emergency protective order that Quinn says she was granted. In April 2024, he officially filed for divorce from Quinn after just over three years of marriage.
While Quinn confirms that the divorce proceedings are still ongoing, she says she’s “very optimistic that it will be finished soon.”
