Christina Applegate seen for first time in new video following hospitalization

Christina Applegate was spotted for the first time since her lengthy hospital stay.

In a brief video clip, the actress, 54, showed off her long, blown out hair after having it colored in her signature light blond shade and styled straight.

She wore a black unzipped hoodie over a black tank top with jeans, and accessorized with layered necklaces while smiling for the camera.

“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” she captioned the upload on Monday, acknowledging a small spot on her skin.

“Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”

Fans took to the comments thread to gush over the actress amid the appearance, with one person writing, “You’re looking as beautiful as ever. 🙂”

Another wrote, “You look exactly the same as when you were on ‘Married With Children.’ Amazing!” A third person chimed in, “You are truly powerful,” while a fourth added, “Gorgeous inside and out.”

The sighting comes over a month after the actress — who’s been battling multiple sclerosis since 2021 — was discharged from the hospital after a stay that began back in March.

An insider told TMZ early in August that the “Dead to Me” actress was back at home and doing well following the extended stay.

It’s unclear exactly why Applegate had been admitted, though her rep told Page Six at the time,  “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about.”

In April, without divulging details, the actress addressed the situation with fans. “Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” she wrote.

“Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day.”

She concluded, “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

Meanwhile, an insider who worked with Applegate on “Married … With Children” told the Daily Mail that co-stars including Katey Sagal and Ed O’Neill — along with Will Ferrell, Jean Smart, and Linda Cardellini — were “anguished” amid her hospital stay and had reached out in support.

“They don’t think this is it for her, she’s not dying right now,” the insider claimed. “But they wanted to make sure that nothing was left unsaid.” They added, “They told each other that they love each other.

In June, her sitcom co-star David Faustino gave insight on her journey during an interview with Us Weekly.

“She gets through this with some humor, and that’s kind of her way that she moves through it,” he told the outlet. “I do a lot of visits with her. A lot of texting, a lot of checking in.”

The hospitalization was the latest medical challenge the “Bad Moms” star has faced in recent years. In August 2025, she shared with “MeSsy” podcast listeners that a kidney infection had left her “screaming” and in the hospital with “so much pain.”

In a February interview with People, the “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead” star revealed she was generally confined to bed and still trying to take her 15-year-old daughter, Sadie LeNoble, to school, saying it’s her “favorite thing to do.”

“I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do,” she shared with the outlet.
