Christie Brinkley is ready to share her story.

On Feb. 4, HarperCollins announced Uptown Girl, a forthcoming memoir from the model and entrepreneur, 71, to be published by imprint Harper Influence this spring.

Uptown Girl, per a statement shared with PEOPLE, traces Brinkley’s life and career in her own words, beginning at the start of her famed modeling career, after being discovered outside a phone booth in Paris in 1974, to her work in the industry and on screen, in films like 1983’s National Lampoon’s Vacation.

The memoir also goes deep in Brinkley’s personal life, with the star sharing never-before-told stories about the “betrayal” she felt from her biological father, “harrowing experiences” that nearly ended her life and her four “tumultuous marriages,” including her divorce from singer Billy Joel. Brinkley famously starred in the 1983 music video for Joel’s hit song “Uptown Girl” — which is where the memoir gets its title.

At its core, however, Uptown Girl cements the author’s “unwavering belief in the magic and mystery of life,” as Brinkley looks back on her “resilience and self-discovery,” as well as her passion for art.

The book will feature over 100 photographs and pieces of Brinkley’s own artwork.

Uptown Girl is unlike any story you will read,” says Harper Influence Senior Vice President and Publisher Lisa Sharkey in a statement.

“At times tender, bubbling over with gobsmacking intimacy and illustrated with the author’s artwork, Brinkley’s unputdownable memoir will keep you enthralled and completely shocked until the very last page.”

For Brinkley, who is also the author of the 2015 book Timeless Beauty, the new memoir also comes from a place of wanting to empower whoever reads her story.

“I wrote Uptown Girl to inspire readers to create the life they want, which is what I’ve always tried to do, not through fortune or fame, but by saying yes to adventure and trying to find the magic in every moment, no matter how big or how small,” the star says.

Uptown Girl will hit shelves on April 29, 2025 and is now available for preorder, wherever books are sold.
