Chris Martin took a tumble.
The frontman fell through an onstage trapdoor while walking backward during Sunday nightâs Coldplay concert in Melbourne, as captured by viral fan footage.
The musician, who was reacting to audience membersâ signs when he slipped, emerged with a smile and joked to his fans that he had not âplannedâ the accident.
âThank you for catching me, so much. Holy sât,â he said to someone out of sight before predicting that the fall would be a âYouTube moment.â
Martin, 47, went on to tell Marvel Stadium concertgoers that he had âthe jittersâ and felt âa little weirdâ after losing his balance â but was ultimately âOK.â
He channeled Oprah Winfrey, quipping to crew members, âYou get a bonus! You get a bonus!â
Social media users reacted to Martinâs spill via X, with one joking that the Grammy winner âwent down under down under.â
Another referenced the bandâs hit 2000 song, writing, âOnce his bruise healed, it was ALL yellow!!â
The viral video comes nearly one month after Olivia Rodrigo similarly fell while performing at Melbourneâs Rod Laver Arena.
The âDriverâs Licenseâ singer, 21, was running when she fell straight through a gaping hole in the stage while her audience gasped.
âOh, my God,â she said. âThat was fun. Sometimes thereâs just a hole in the stage. Thatâs all right. OK, where was I?â
Earlier this same year, Ed Sheeran made headlines for tripping and falling to his knees during a Japan concert.
âStyled it out,â the âShape of Youâ singer, 33, jokingly captioned an Instagram video of his slip.
âQuickest getting up ever,â Natasha Bedingfield commented, while Gavin DeGraw and Diplo respectively said that ânobody noticedâ and Sheeran âcrushed it.â
The following month, Taylor Swift was performing in Tokyo when she tripped walking downstairs.
