Chris Hemsworth Shows Off Superhero Physique Playing Football Shirtless on the Beach

Chris Hemsworth may have taken a hiatus from the MCU, but he’s maintaining his superhero physique.

The Thor actor was spotted with his wife, Elsa Pataky, enjoying the Australian sunshine in Byron Bay on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The Sexiest Man Alive alum and Fast and Furious actress were photographed on the sandy beach playing football with a couple of their friends. 

At the beach, Hemsworth, 41, showed off his muscular physique in gray swim trunks and draped an animal print towel across his shoulders. Meanwhile, Pataky, 48, wore a high-cut white one-piece swimsuit and a black baseball cap.

The recent photos of the fit couple follow Hemsworth’s comments about how quickly he knew his wife was the one. In September 2024, he appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and said as soon as Pataky arrived on a motorcycle to their first date, he thought, “ ‘Oh cool, she’s adventurous.’ ”

He explained to Barrymore that he and Pataky opt for an “active” lifestyle. “You want to have similar interests,” he said, adding, “Having the same interests and the same enthusiasm for the outdoors and sports and so on just keeps it interesting.”

Hemsworth is also the founder of the Centr fitness program.

The couple, who met in 2010 and married that same year, were set up by their mutual dialect coach, Hemsworth explained to Barrymore. “I did what you do, which is Google someone. Saw her photo, and I said, ‘Yep! I’ll have her phone number. She’s pretty.’ And then we went out on a date and the rest is history,” he said.

Since they first met, the couple have welcomed three children: twin boys Sasha and Tristan, 10, and daughter India Rose, 12.

Throughout their relationship, the two continue to express their individual gratitude for the other and celebrate the other’s accomplishments. In May 2024, Hemsworth received a star on Hollywood Boulevard and thanked his wife for her support throughout the years.

“I want to say thank you to my beautiful wife, who has been here for my entire career basically by my side, endlessly encouraging and supportive,” the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga actor said. “And it doesn’t get lost on me that she put aside her own dreams in order to support mine and, again, [I am] forever in your debt.”
