The “Captain America” star and the “Warrior Nun” alum have been historically private about their relationship.

Now that the couple have welcomed a new addition to their family, let’s take a look back at how the duo went from secret lovers to parents.

Romance rumors

Evans was first romantically linked to Baptista — who is 16 years his junior — in November 2022 when an insider claimed the actor had been dating her “for over a year” by that point.

“They are in love, and Chris has never been happier,” the source told People at the time. “His family and friends all adore her.” 

The report about Evans’ secret romance came just days after he was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” and he explained how he became a better romantic partner with age in the accompanying interview.

“You spend a lot of time learning what’s been helpful and what hasn’t been,” he told the outlet.

“We all have patterns, hang-ups or baggage that repeat and echo, so I’ve really been able to kind of identify where I need improvement and what works.”

Central Park PDA

Just hours after news of their romance surfaced, the duo were spotted holding hands in New York City.

In pictures exclusively obtained by Page Six, the Marvel star and Portuguese actress tried to stay under the radar while going on a stroll through Central Park on Nov. 10, 2022.

The incognito couple held on tightly to one another as they made their way through the crowded streets while wearing matching sunglasses and face masks.

When they noticed the paparazzi, they quickly bowed their heads and let go of one another on their way out of the park.

Instagram-official?

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Evans left a flirty comment on Baptista’s Instagram post just one day before reports of their relationship broke.

The actress uploaded some stills from her new film that had just opened in Portugal.

“’A Dream In Paris’ premieres today in Portugal!” she wrote. “I hope you watch it, it’s a love-filled movie. ❤️”

Evans responded by leaving a clapping hands emoji and melting face emoji in Baptista’s comments section. His message garnered more than 2,400 “likes.” 

Valentine’s Day tribute

The “Materialists” star took to his Instagram Story on Valentine’s Day in 2023 to express his love for Baptista and confirm she is his girlfriend as he shared their PDA-packed pics.

Several of their romantic adventures were captured in the series of snaps including the pair enjoying a waterfall hike, going apple picking and skiing together.

Evans also shared photos of Baptista snuggling with his puppy, viewing the Northern Lights, enjoying an ocean view and kissing him in a car.

Wedding bells

Evans and Baptista wed in September 2023 in an intimate ceremony that took place in Massachusetts at their Boston-area home, Page Six exclusively learned.

An insider told us the nuptials were “locked down tight,” as guests signed NDAs and phones were forfeited.

The sourced added that the couple invited their closest family and friends to witness the “beautiful” ceremony.

Some of Evans’ A-list pals and Marvel costars attended the nuptials, including Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.

“I Do” times two

The couple threw a second wedding celebration in Portugal for Baptista’s family later that month.

“There is going to be a second gathering in Portugal for members of Alba’s family who couldn’t be in Massachusetts,” a source exclusively told Page Six after we broke the news of their first wedding.

“Sometime this week, I believe. Then they’ll depart from Portugal for their honeymoon.”

Flaunting their rings

The “Captain America: Civil War” star flaunted his wedding ring at New York Comic Con in October 2023 — a month after tying the knot with Baptista in Boston.

In photos exclusively obtained by Page Six, Evans had his gold band on display as he talked on stage with Tumblr and even divulged wedding details during his panel discussion.

“I got married,” he confessed as the crowd cheered. “It was really, really great.”

“We kind of had two ceremonies,” he shared. “We had one on the East Coast, we did one in Portugal — my wife’s Portuguese. But they were just … wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot planning a wedding — for those of you who are married you know, it takes a lot out of you.”

He also revealed how he and his wife were “just relaxing and reflecting” after their wedding season came to an end.

Baptista also showed off her diamond sparkler the following month at the GQ Portugal Man of the Year event.

On the carpet, she wore a chic black Miu Miu dress as she showed off what appears to be an unconventional engagement ring featuring a large pearl surrounded by a floral cluster of diamonds on a thick diamond-trimmed band.

They later made their first public appearance together at Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost’s star-studded Christmas party in December 2023. Exclusive photos obtained by Page Six showed the couple holding hands.

Red carpet debut

The married couple made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars party — six months after their secret wedding.

In rare form, Evans and Baptista showed PDA for the cameras as they wrapped their arms around each other with loved-up smiles on their faces.

The “Knives Out” star sported a double-breasted red Dolce & Gabbana suit while the “Borderline” star stunned in a glamorous black-and-white strapless gown.

Days prior, the pair were spotted holding hands on a rare date night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif., following the talent agency CAA’s pre-Oscars bash.

Proposal details

The “Nanny Diaries” star got candid about his romantic proposal to Baptista and shared his extra-special gesture in June 2025.

“I proposed to my wife in Portuguese,” he told the Knot. “She’s Portuguese, so I learned how to say ‘Will you marry me?’ in Portuguese. I had practiced it all week.”

Evans explained that because the phrase had been stuck in his head for days before the proposal, he almost let it slip while making breakfast.

“Like, ‘Oh God, that’s not just a song that’s stuck in my head! It’s gonna let the cat out of the bag,” he quipped.

“I got really nervous when it came time to do it. I actually think I screwed it up, but I still know it.”

Baby love

The couple welcomed their first child on Oct. 27, 2025, per TMZ.

Evans and Baptista had a baby girl, whom they named Alma Grace and was born in Massachusetts.

In June 2025, fans speculated that the pair were starting a family after the actress’ dad, Luiz Baptista, responded to a fan account wishing himself and Evans’ dad, G. Roberts Evans III, a happy Father’s Day.
