Cher is turning heads at the SNL50: The Anniversary Special!
On Sunday, Feb. 16, the 78-year-old music icon stepped out in a black floor-length dress with rhinestone appliqués framing a plunging sweetheart neckline to celebrate the iconic sketch comedy show. She accessorized her look with a cozy coat, silver rings and a blonde updo.
The red carpet appearance comes after the “Strong Enough” singer kicked off the legendary sketch show’s three-day celebration with a performance at the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert.
On Friday, Feb. 14, Cher performed her classic “If I Could Turn Back Time” at the concert, which was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. For the occasion, she wore a sheer black sequined bodysuit, a black leather jacket and thigh-high boots — an ensemble reminiscent of some of her most iconic and daring looks.
The Grammy winner, who is a frequent collaborator with fashion designer Bob Mackie, is often known to rock an all-black, sheer wardrobe piece.
She reportedly brought “the crowd to its feet” at the event, per Newsweek, and a clip of her performance shared on the official SNL Instagram account shows the likes of Kevin Costner, Will Ferrell and Jon Hamm jamming out to the music.
The star-studded affair also featured performances by Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, The Backstreet Boys and more. Musical-comedy favorite Andy Samberg made an appearance, singing a medley of The Lonely Island’s greatest hits from the long-running sketch series, including “Lazy Sunday” and “D— in a Box.”
