Chelsea Handler admits she “dodged a bullet” when Andrew Cuomo suddenly ghosted her — thwarting her plans to have sex with him.
“My life is filled with dodging bullets,” the comedian exclusively tells Page Six in an interview, noting that not hooking up with the former New York governor was “just one example.”
“I’ve been dodging bullets since I was four,” Handler adds. “My sister even says it. She says, ‘It always seems to work out for you!’ But she doesn’t seem happy about it.”
In her upcoming book, “I’ll Have What She’s Having,” the “Chelsea Lately” alum, 49, reveals that she developed a massive crush on Cuomo, 67, during his daily COVID-19 updates during the pandemic.
In 2020, Handler even appeared on “The View” via Zoom and cheekily revealed that she would “like to be penetrated by the governor.”
Three days later, she received a call from an unknown number, which turned out to be Cuomo, who left a lengthy message.
The “Life Will Be the Death of Me” author was ecstatic, yelling to a friend, “I’m going to f–k the governor!”
Handler planned on consummating the flirtation during an upcoming trip to New York, however, “the big hiccup here was that Mr. Cuomo stopped responding to my texts as soon as I arrived on the East Coast,” she reveals.
But Handler — who has a new stand-up comedy special coming out on Netflix next month — didn’t let the politician’s ghosting stop her from having fun.
While on a family holiday, she began texting him risqué photos of herself “swimming topless while wearing a face mask” and “smoking a joint topless.”
Cuomo resigned as governor in August 2021 after being accused by nearly a dozen women of inappropriate behavior and sexual misconduct.
Handler writes in her book, “If hadn’t been so forward and declared what I was looking for, I could have ended up in bed with him. It seemed he preferred touching women who weren’t interested in him, rather than touching women who were.”
