Chelsea Handler addresses Ralph Fiennes romance rumors after leaving Oscars 2025 party together

Chelsea Handler shut down rumors of a budding romance with Ralph Fiennes after photos of them looking cozy surfaced on Sunday.

Handler, 50, and the “Conclave” star, 62, were snapped leaving the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday night, smiling broadly while arm-in-arm.

“I saw that,” the “I’ll Have What She’s Having” author said to Entertainment Tonight of the pictures going viral online earlier this week.

“I saw about 30,000 articles come through. When your publicist sends you an update of the press that you’ve been in daily and I was like, ‘How long is this email?’”

Handler explained that the two were simply going “from one party to another party with a group of friends and that is what happened.”

“I don’t think Ralph Fiennes is marriage material,” she added, “and I don’t think I’m marriage material.”

Last month, the friendly pair teamed up for a cheeky bit at the Critics Choice Awards 2025 — which Handler hosted on Feb. 7.

They loosely recreated a scene from Nicole Kidman’s film “Babygirl,” in which the actress seductively drinks a glass of milk.

“‘Babygirl’ was one of my favorite movies this year because I love everything Nicole Kidman does and it even inspired me to hire a new sexy intern,” the comedian said during the award ceremony.

Handler was given a glass of milk, which she began chugging, while Fiennes called out encouragement including “Good girl” and “Keep going! Don’t stop!”

The Oscar nominee was married to actress Alex Kingston from 1993 to 1997 and was previously in a relationship with actress Francesca Annis for 11 years until they separated in 2006.

Handler has never married and her most recent public romance was with comedian Jo Koy, whom she dated for a year before splitting in 2022.

“What I thought was a mature healthy relationship and what he thought was a mature healthy relationship were two different things and I would have had to compromise everything I stand for and I wasn’t willing to do that,” she said recently of their split.

Handler confirmed in February that she is dating an old friend during an appearance on “Call Her Daddy.”

While she did not name him, she revealed they “didn’t really become lovers until about six or seven months ago.”

“I invited him to Mallorca on a trip with a group of friends. … I’ve known him for years. I’ve always been attracted to him, but he was not available,” she said, adding, “I always have wanted someone like him in my life.”
