Charlieâs Angels star Jaclyn Smith got candid about discovering that her first husband, Roger Davis, was having an affair, and revealed that iconic actor Warren Beatty was unexpectedly involved.
The 80-year-old delved into her four marriages in her new memoir, I Once Knew A Guy Named Charlie, and explained that she had bumped into Warren on the street while Roger was having an affair with their real estate agent.
Meeting Warren
âI really thought it was a match made in heaven,â she told People of her first marriage. âWe both didnât drink, we loved architecture, we both were actors, we were both from the South, we liked the same food. We liked everything the same, but boy, did I have a lot to learn.â
The duo met at a commercial casting call in 1968 and married in the same year. Two years after tying the knot, Jaclyn and Roger were hunting for an apartment in NYC, and we set to meet up for a viewing one day.
While walking to the apartment, she bumped into Warren, who asked her to audition for his film. Her husband then appeared seemingly out of nowhere and turned down the opportunity on her behalf, stating that she was mainly a commercial actress.
Jaclyn later found out that Roger had been cheating with the real estate agent inside the apartment they were set to view while she was talking to Warren.

Interestingly, Jaclynâs Charlieâs Angels co-star, Kate Jackson, would go on to briefly date Warren in the â70s. Two years after the incident, Jaclyn found Roger with another woman, prompting their divorce.
âI mean, I was pretty naive and in love with love, but thereâs a line. When the paint starts to peel, get out, because it doesnât change,â she told People.
Jaclynâs tumultuous love life
She went on to meet actor Dennis Cole on the set of Charlieâs Angels, and they married in 1978, but infidelity on his part ultimately led to their demise in 1981.
The brunette beauty told the publication that her relationships with both Roger and Dennis âqualify as marriages in my heart of hearts,â but taught her harsh lessons.
Her third marriage was to cinematographer Anthony B. Richmond, with whom she welcomed kids Gaston and Spencer-Margaret.
âThat period in my life was a very beautiful period,â she recalled. âI never thought Iâd have children, and he gave me these beautiful kids. He was devoted to me, and we worked well together.â
Their union came to an end in 1989 due to his struggles with addiction, and she went on to meet Dr Brad Allen in 1991 when he helped to perform heart surgery on her father.
âI got a great husband, great marriage, and the most fantastic stepfather I could ever dream of,â Jaclyn said. âI mean, he loves my kids like theyâre his. Thereâs no better gift. For a girl that just believed in marriage and kids, I finally got that.â
