In fact, buzz and demand for the residency has been so high that tickets sold out instantly, leading the singer to return for another three-week residency in May 2027.

Celine Dion’s latest health update

Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar a few short weeks before she makes her comeback, Celine shared an update on how she’s faring with her Stiff Person Syndrome, a diagnosis she went public with in 2022, although she’d been experiencing symptoms for nearly two decades.

ā€œIt is a progressive condition,ā€ she explained, although refrained from calling it a ā€œdisease,ā€ joking that it makes her scrunch up her nose into a disgusted expression and say something like: ā€œKevin, you’re such a disease.ā€

In December 2022, Celine went public with her diagnosis for the first time, sharing a heartbreaking video explaining why she’d had to cancel her residency and an upcoming world tour. ā€œThey paid for tickets. They bought my records. They gave me that luxury,ā€ she shared with the publication. ā€œSo the least I can do is tell them that I’m alive.ā€

The singer noted that after she first received her diagnosis, things kicked into high gear. She began physical therapy, vocal therapy, immunotherapy, and even integrated new medication into her daily life.

On the physical side as well, she’s amped up her training. Especially in the lead-up to her shows, Celine is now taking 90-minute Pilates classes three times a week, and using two of the other days for ballet classes, spending her free time leaning up against a barre at her home gym.

How Celine is feeling about her comeback shows

While the ā€œBecause You Loved Meā€ singer noted feeling both ā€œexcitedā€ and ā€œnervousā€ about her upcoming run of shows, her first time on stage since the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, she is happiest about being back in front of her millions of adoring fans.

ā€œIt’s been so long, I would like to offer them something to show how I’ve missed them,ā€ she gushed. When asked why she’s able to find so much strength from her relationship with them, she mused: ā€œIt’s got to be because I’m an open book.ā€

Offering a rare personal update, Celine said that she feels most like ā€œherselfā€ when she’s able to be ā€œhonestā€ with them. ā€œI’m honest, and it’s not always pretty,ā€ she maintained. ā€œSometimes it’s happy things, sometimes it’s sad, but it’s called life. Instead of questioning life, can you live life? So I’m living my life, girl. I’m living the life.ā€

The legendary musician also noted how grateful she is to have that connection, even with all its faults. She quipped: ā€œWell, girl, if you don’t want to sign autographs and you don’t want to get yourself pretty and you don’t want to be disturbed because your pasta is going to get cold, you can always stay home. But look at what you have.ā€
