Celebrity Hairstylist Graham Nation, Who Worked with Demi Moore and Catherine O’Hara, Dies at 39

Celebrity hairstylist Graham Nation has died. He was 39.

According to the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner, he died at a gym in Los Angeles on Friday, Feb. 14. The case is pending additional investigation.

Days before his death, Nation, whose real name was Graham Cheek, revealed that he styled Catherine O’Hara’s hair for her Michelob Ultra Super Bowl ad. “My first ever Super Bowl commercial!” he shared in an Instagram post from Feb. 10. “What an absolute blast to work on, Thank you Cathrine O’Hara for having me apart of this epic commercial.🩶

Nation’s worked with a roster of celebrity clients including Demi Moore, Alix Earle, Jared Leto, Simone Ashley, Venus Williams and Emma Chamberlain. Per industry publication Behind the Chair, he also served as an educator and ambassador for brands like SexyHair and Fekkai and his work has been featured in publications like British Vogue, W, Elle, Marie Claire, InStyle and Wonderland.

Graham was represented by The Wall Group. Per Behind the Chair, the agency shared: “Graham was a one-of-a-kind soul who impacted every single person he met. We are honored to have been part of his journey and to have helped him share his artistry with the world. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him dearly.”

PEOPLE reached out to The Wall Group but did not immediately receive a response.

On August 10, 2024, Nation and his partner Tonya Brewer announced that they had welcomed their first child, son Romeo West. In a joint Instagram post, Nation can be seen wearing a black hoodie and sunglasses while holding the newborn to his chest.

The couple shared the pregnancy news on May 19, 2024. “We made a baby,” the caption of the joint post read. In the accompanying video, Nation hands Brewer a flower before kissing and cradling her baby bump.
