Barrel, horseshoe, wide leg â jeans have been decidedly bigger of late. And with rumblings that skinny jeans are back on the fashion agenda, trust Cat Deeley to prove just how stylish and chic they really can look
Catâs latest This Morning outfit is giving 2010 vibes, from the boho patterned blouse to the suede slouchy boots and of course, that mid-noughties essential â the skinny jeans. And Catâs are in fact, not just stylish, but sculpting too.
- Cat Deeley, 49, is back presenting This Morning with Ben Shepherd following a week off.
- On Mondayâs show, she wears the jean shape of the season â skinny.
- Catâs skinny jeans are the River Island Sculpt Skinny Jeans, ÂŁ49.
Wearing a Farm Rio Paisley Blouse, Catâs high street denim is a bestseller at River Island. Not only is the denim soft and stretchy (River Island lists them as âsuper stretchâ), making them a super comfortable fit, but theyâre designed to lift and sculpt the bottom. Since weâve gotten out of the habit of wearing skinny jeans, these are a brilliant buy to ease you back into the closer, more streamlined fit.
Evidence these jeans are doing their sculpting, lifting job, is from This Morningâs resident chef Clodagh McKenna. While hosting a cookery segment on the show, Clodagh exclaimed how incredible Catâs bottom looked in her River Island jeans. Yet further proof that these are worth every penny, for lifting and sculpting the figure.
Called the Molly Mid Rise Sculpt Skinny, Catâs jeans are available in black, her preferred colour, as well as seven other denim rinses including stonewash, mid-blue, grey and brown.
Youâll find them in sizes 6 â 22, in regular length, petite and tall.
How to wear skinny jeans now
Weâve been spoilt with the range of jean shapes and styles over the past decade, and as hems are getting wider and more experimental, fashion appears to be turning its back on the baggier, more slouchy styles weâve become accustomed to and leaning more towards a smarter, more sleek silhouette.Â
Thatâs where skinny jeans earn their stripes.
The shape can be tucked into boots, worn smart with heels or casually with boots or sneakers. The focus now is to balance out the proportions and remember the golden rule: if youâre wearing a slim bottom, pair it with a big top for a more modern, 2026 look.
- The oversized blazer:Â Think a boxy, boyfriend-style blazer layered over a white t-shirt. The structured shoulders balance out the slim leg.
- The white shirt:Â Big, oversized shirts worn loose over a skinny jean give a Parisian vibe to a classic, simple oufit.
- The shoes:Â Loafers or a ballet pump are an ideal pairing. For a smarter look, a knee high equestrian-style boot always looks chic and timeless or for a more casual vibe, a retro trainer. Keep the hem of the jean sitting just above the trainer or ankle bone â scrunched up skinny jeans are never stylish.Â
How to style skinny jeans like Cat
Catâs really honed in on the boho vibes of skinny jeans finest era, 2010. Sheâs added a Farm Rio Paisley blouse to her jeans, tucking in the slightly oversized top to the waistline of the jeans to balance out her proportions.
Her blouse is also puff sleeved, again balancing out the proportions.
If your budget is on the lower side, head to Albaray for their paisley green blouse. Like Catâs, it has ruffle details and a voluminous shape which can be tucked into jeans or trousers. Itâs on sale, reduced to ÂŁ35 and available in sizes 8 â 18.
Catâs added a pair of brown suede knee high boots, pointed at the toe and with a slim heel. Youâll find a great lookalike at Boden, with the Vera Heel Boots.
