Fans were delighted when Carrie Underwood announced on Monday that she had welcomed two more family members to her 400-acre farm, with a clip of the newborn lambs uploaded to Instagram.
âTimeline cleanseâŠWe adopted these two little orphan lambs,â Carrie began in the caption. The star added that her family had named them Murray and Magnolia â or Maggie for short.
âThese mornings are so precious. It took a few days for them to willingly take the bottleâŠIâm still working on him,â she continued, before sharing that she was âtrying to be a good mama to these babiesâ.
The singerâs fans took to the comment section to obsess over the âadorableâ and âpreciousâ lambs, with one writing: âWell if this isnât the sweetest way to start off a Monday I donât know what is,â while another shared: âYou are a good Mama to them!â
âThose lambs have no ideaâŠthey just won the lottery!â said a third.
Carrie shared a further glimpse of the lambs in a second Instagram post, quipping: âHey kids, âeweâ better not miss @AmericanIdol tonightâ.
Carrie is no stranger to adopting farm animals, and has cared for everything from chickens to donkeys over the years. In May 2025, the American Idol judge took to Instagram to surprise fans with the birth of another baby lamb, who was born the same day as the showâs finale.Â
She named him after the Season 23 Idol winner, Jamal Roberts, in honor of his birth date. âIt would only be right if we named him Jamal!!!â she quipped.
Her two new adopted babies, Maggie and Murray, now join Jamal and the other farm animals on their sprawling property.
The eight-time Grammy winner and her husband, Mike Fisher, live with their two sons, Jacob and Isaiah, on a farm near Nashville, Tennessee. Spread over 400 acres of land, it is home to its own orchard, lake and chicken coop, as well as several barns and sheds, which house a variety of livestock.Â
They also have a large greenhouse that the pair installed in 2023 to grow fresh fruit and vegetables year-round. âItâs really cool when people come over, and you can serve them bread that you made or some hard apple cider from your orchardâ, the pop star told Modern Luxury.
When Carrie isnât tending to her farm, she is busy with American Idol, where she is serving as a judge for the second year in a row. This follows season 23, when she replaced Katy Perry on the show.Â
Speaking with Las Vegas Magazine in 2025, the 43-year-old explained: âThe timing did work out beautifully as Idol came togetherâŠI know exactly what they are going through and how vulnerable it is to stand in front of the judges and leave your heart on the stage.âÂ
Carrie won the showâs fourth season back in 2005, and has gone on to become one of country musicâs most successful stars.Â
She also noted that working on American Idol gave her the stability that touring could not, meaning she could spend more time with her family and the animals on the farm.
